Name above every name

Name above every name-Jesus.  This stamp is by Stampendous.  I've had it for a long time but used it today to honor another stamper over at SCS. She had a stamp with similar names but in a rectangle shape.
I used some pearls on here to decorate and a small bow at the top.  Pretty simple but I really like it!

Thank you flowers

I love this stamp by Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.  It is really fun to color.  I used pinks, corals and purples on these flowers today. Adhered some tiny gold rhinestones to the centers. Used a VersaMark pen and clear embossing powder with silver glitter in it on some of the outside lines.  I also used some chunky Shabby Chic white EP on the card heated from underneath.
This was done for a challenge at SCS to honor the Featured Stamper.

Frosty Baby!

This little Winter Fairy from Penny Black is just adorable.  She is part of my "basic shapes" challenge today.  It is also a mixed media and I have to admit that I mostly just used ink but there is some chunky embossing powder from Stampendous and also some Stickles glitter glue as well.
She was very fun to color.

Tweeters and friend

On this challenge at SCS, we were to use some Christmas wrapping paper.  I used this snowflake paper that I wrapped almost everyone's gifts in!!  It is left over from a couple years ago...you know, one of those giant thick rolls.  I've used it to wrap a LOT of presents since my family LOVES the snow.
The stamp is by Stampendous and the snow "glitter" is called Shaved Ice, also by Stampendous.
Hope you like my little guy with his little tweeter buddies.

ODBDSLC184 CHRISTMAS EVE

ODBD dies: Ornate Borders and Flowers set; Paper pack-Christmas 2013

Our challenge this week at Shining the Light is "Anything Goes

You have until January 5th (this is a two week challenge).  For this challenge you may use any stamps but if you have any Our Daily Bread Design (ODBD) stamps we would love to see you use them.  If you participate, you have the chance to win a $15 certificate good toward ODBD stamps or to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award (Shining the Light Award is only for those who use ODBD stamps).  We would love to see your creations!
For this creation I used ODBD- The Babe stamp set, ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers stamp set, ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers die set and the 2013 Christmas paper pack.
I also used dies by Memory Box, Cheery Lynn Designs and Spellbinders.
This is Christmas Eve so I thought it would be most appropriate to do the Babe!!!  This is one of my favorite stamps.  The thought that God in heaven would send His son to dwell in human flesh and let Him be born in a lowly state, it just amazes me.  He deserved all the riches of a royal birth but was placed in a manger, in a dwelling with animals.  He grew up working with His hands, with His earthly father, helping with His "brothers and sisters", helping His mother do shores.  He then went on into ministry, allowing people to mock Him, spit on Him, try to stone Him but still He loved us enough to die for us.  Not just die but be put on trial falsely accused, beaten, whipped and finally dying on a cross, the most humiliating and harsh death of those days. This is Jesus, God with us, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, King of kings!!!  He walked about healing all who were afflicted, doing miracles everywhere He went and This Jesus, who rose from the grave, still does miracles, especially in the heart! Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Merry Christmas Snowman

These were the colors for a color challenge this week.  Makes a cute snowman/snowlady I think.
The stamp is from Northwoods.
I used Copics to color and the die is from Cheery Lynn Design.  I also used an embossing folder on the white tag under the oval die cut.  The words are by Our Daily Bread Designs.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by. Comments are welcome!!

Blue

This is my weekly entry for the Tea Potter's challenge.  This time it is going to a lady who just lost two brothers due to illness.  We are all sending her cards to help her during her time of sorrow.
I'm hoping this will brighten her day. She loves blue and butterflies represent new beginnings.

Deer die cuts

It's been fun making this die cut card and tag.  The tag is for a gift to my sister who lives at Shaver Lake. It is about 5000' elevation so you can kind of get the idea that this card will be perfect for a hostess gift (Christmas is at her house this year)!
I used Cottage Cutz, Memory Box, Taylored Expressions, Elizabeth Craft Designs and Spellbinder dies. Lots of Liquid Pearl-white and glitter/snow glitter.  The tag also has a white flecked mesh on it. The tie is paper ribbon.  I'm looking out my window right now and the deer are in my backyard...just saw mom kick young one on the behind with her front hoof to get it to move out of her spot I suppose.  That was pretty funny!  My dog doesn't bother them at all...she's kinda scared of them and she is a pretty large dog.
Merry Christmas all!

ODBDSLC183 NOEL: N=NOTIONS, O=ORNAMENT, E=EMBOSSING, L=LACE

ODBD Dies- Circle Ornaments; Ornate Borders and Flowers
Hello all!
Our challenge at Shining the Light is a play on the word NOEL.
N for notions, nesties, negative space; O for oval/circle shape, olive, old; E for embossing, embellishments, eggplant color, envelope; L for lace, layers, letterpress.  Think of something to put on your card that starts with these letters and you've got it!!

You have until December 22 to join us.  For this challenge you may use any stamps but if you have Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamps we would love to see you use them.  If you participate, you have a chance to win a $15 certificate toward ODBD stamps or be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award (The Shining the Light Award is only for those who use ODBD stamps).  We would love to see your creations.
I used the Snowflake background with blue ink and clear powder on white for the base layer then used the snowflake ornament from the Christmas Patterns Ornament set with white ink and clear powder. I used the Circle Ornaments die set to cut it out, cutting out a white circle as well to mount the ornament on and I used the Ornate Borders and Flowers die set to cut out the words "Merry Christmas" (from the Poinsettia Wreath stamp set).  The lace is sewn on to the two blue strips (one vertical, one horizontal)  and then some braid is sewn on top of the lace. I also did some zigzag stitching around the base layer before gluing it to a blue folded card.  My bow is made from 1" white satin ribbon and 1" blue sheer ribbon tied together and stuck onto the card with a large glue dot.
Take time during this busy Christmas season to show love to those you are close to and kindness/compassion to those you don't even know.  None may know of your acts of kindness but God will see, and YOU will know! Forgive others and speak words of encouragement to those you come in contact with.  Remember why we even have Christmas...it is NOT to receive gifts or have a nice dinner with friends and family...those things are nice but the reason we have Christmas is because God sent His only Son to earth as a baby to dwell among us and even though He was perfect, He died in our place for our sin so that we might live forever with God in heaven.  Jesus was born, died and rose again! That is the entire reason that there is this holiday we call Christmas!!

Chickadees in Holly

Love this image from PSX and love to color these little guys! Chickadees and winter just seem to always go together.  The words are from Our Daily Bread Designs...Christmas Blessings.  This is a card I did to honor a fellow SCS member, Vicki Burdick (Justcrazy, SCS name).
I made the bow with a Bow Easy.  It has 4 or 5 loops on each side but very easy to do with the Bow Easy.
Thanks for visiting!!

ODBDSLC182 ALTERNATE FOLD

This is a fun challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD)!!! I love creating (or in this case, following instructions) new folds/techniques to share with others.  I would love to see what other people come up with as well, so I hope you will join in for this fun challenge at Shining the Light challenge, Our Daily Bread Designs.

For this card I used The Ornate Borders and Flowers die set and coordinating stamp set; The Chickadee Ornament stamp set; the Christmas paper pack and the Scripture Collection 9 set, all from ODBD.
I sewed real lace on top (you can also use a border punch for that part) and added my secret door under the middle panel (a fun place to add a special sentiment or your own hand written message).
The sprigs of greenery are from a Martha Stewart punch and the pine cone was made by a scallop circle die.
The pine cone tutorial can be found HERE.
The instructions for this card can be found HERE.

Teapotter's Challenge-Friends

This is a special card going out to a special lady with cancer.  This was a Tea Potters challenge on SCS. For anyone looking for a cause to make cards, I would suggest going to SplitCoast Stampers on Tuesdays and check out the Teapot challenge.  The cards go to special circumstances or serious ill people each week with the exception of one week a month when we send them to each other (chosen by number type thing). You always have the choice to send the card you make out or not...no RULES regarding that but it is nice knowing that you can put a smile on someone's face who needs it!
In this case, this lady loves roses, especially red roses so I made her a bouquet of roses in the corner.
I did this in a combination with a color challenge (Gold, yellow, and olive green).  The frame is gold but looks yellow in this photo.
The stamp is by Uptown Girls- Stamping Bella.  Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and dies are from Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn Designs (Flourishes).

Our Daily Bread Designs-The Babe

We had a challenge today to stamp on a printed page or music. I have an old dictionary I saved for just such a thing.  I found a page with Savior on it and stamped baby Jesus on it (Our Daily Bread Designs). Colored it with Copic Markers then dipped the edges in ink I sprayed on a Baking sheet.  I dipped the bottom in red to remind me of why Jesus came to dwell with us.  The words that ran across baby Jesus face bothered me at first until I remembered that Jesus IS the Word, the Word that became flesh.  It became so clear to me what scripture needed to go with this.  I don't have a stamp that has this scripture on it so I used my computer and printed it on card stock then used distress inks to age the paper. I also used some chunky embossing powder from Stampendous on both the background paper (also by Our Daily Bread Designs) and on the scripture panel.   I really like this card because it has special meaning to me.  I hope you like it too!  This Christmas, celebrate the reason we have Christmas...Jesus, Savior of the world!

Poinsettia Sparkle

Here is a card I did for a sparkle challenge...I love this old Magenta poinsettia stamp and doing it in a black glitter was the ticket here.  I also used silver glitter paper and black glitter paper. Really makes everything so sparkly! The Merry Christmas die is from Elizabeth Craft Designs!  Using a word die is perfect for glitter paper since you can't really stamp on it!
The silver center is a combination of silver metallic liquid pearl and glitter.

ODBDSLC181 3-D ornament

Here is an ornament that I made with the new stamp set and matching die set from Our Daily Bread Designs called Ornate Borders and flowers.
I used Red Versafine and clear embossing powder then heat. For the squares inside I cut them a little smaller than the square of the frame and embossed them with a snowflake embossing folder.  The snowflake/flower is red embossed with clear powder as well.  This is a 6 panel ornament.
