Happy Birthday

This was a sketch card basically.  I used Copic Markers on this little one from My Besties. The Happy Birthday is from Paper Smooches.  I also used a white Sharpie to make the shine spots on the balloons etc.
For the background I tore a post-it at the non sticky side and sponged Sky Blue Brilliance over the top to create clouds.  I used real string for the balloon strings but I think I should have used a color since they don't really show up in the picture.  Tell me what you think.

Acrylic Paint background

These challenges are so fun...this is something I would NEVER have done on my own.  I used acrylic paint to do the background. First I spread black paint on, let it dry then used yellow, orange, red, pink and white paint on top.  We had to use a credit card (or some other edge) to spread the paint.
I stamped a Kodomo image on white and die cut and colored (with Copics).  Added a black mat and mounted with foam tape. I added rhinestones and paper flowers.  The Asian print is from Hero Arts.

Hero Arts Background

This card is for a sketch challenge. I like this large stamp from Hero Arts but boy, what a lot of coloring!! Wow, it took quite some time to finish. I used Copic Markers to color this image.  The scripture stamp is from Our Daily Bread.

Color Block Humming Bird

This is another color blocking challenge piece. I used the shimmer sheets from Elizabeth Craft Designs and embossed each color, sanded then added Staz-On ink.  The Humming bird is also from Shimmer sheets then dabbed with alcohol inks.

COLOR BLOCKING BACKGROUND

I just love these little fairies.  This was for a color blocking challenge on SCS.  The background I created (rubbing paper through inks and water on a kraft sheet), just screamed put a fairy on me.
I used the new Neon daubers by Hero Arts for the color on the back ground pieces, watered down to be more of a pastel rather than neon bright.

Penny Black Bubbles

This Penny Black image is just precious!
She was mega fun to color, I especially liked doing the bubbles!
This was for a SCS challenge called angled backgrounds.
It always makes me happy inside when I stamp and color cute little kids or fairies....just something about them makes my insides giggle!

Thanks a Bunch

Color challenge, smoky, curry, cabana.  Three colors I would not normally put together mostly because of the gray but thought this was a nice solution.

Cheery Lynn Challenge #86 Wonderful Weddings

I had a summer blast with Cheery Lynn Designs!

On this Wedding card I used the lattice die, corner dies, oval die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I used a label die from Spellbinder to die cut image...leaving shoe and veil out of the die so as not to cut it.
There are rhinestones all around the oval die cut and in each corner (for the diamond wedding ring!).  Little roses accent the white bow to mirror the roses in image.   I used some sheer shimmer glaze on the veil which can't really be seen in this photo.  It is hard to photograph white on white.  The background paper under the lattice is actually white with a silvery stripe.
I left a comment to enter for the e-bosser!!

Vellum Asters

I like this white on white version of the Cheery Lynn card from the previous post.  I actually did this one first but the Cheery Lynn challenge was suppose to used kraft card stock.  Tell me what you think by leaving a comment!  The flowers and embossed background panel are made from vellum.  I used pink rhinestones and pink ink on this one.

Cheery Lynn #85- Keep It Krafty

On this card the card base, embossed panel and inside ovals are from kraft card stock.  The words (Heartfelt Creations) are stamped in Rust Brilliance. The butterfly, Asters and leaves are die cut from gold vellum.  Decorative oval and butterfly are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I stamped the embossed background panel with a flourish stamp from Hero Arts with VersaMark then chalked it with a rust color then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder (also from Cuttlebug).  I added gold rhinestones to butterfly and centers of flowers.  I also added some sheer Ivory ribbon at the bottom right corner.

Man cards two

Some more guy cards...I always fell like they are so hard to do for some reason (actually, I know the reason...I like looking at and working with girly things!)
This is a Terry Medaris Art Stamp and words by My Favorite Things.  I used Copic Markers to color.  On the word panels I sprayed some yellow and edged with ink.  Tied a lasso around the whole image panel.  The purple shimmer was run through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder (stars).
This cowboy is from Stampin' Up!.  I used my Copic Markers here and embossed two of the background panels with chicken wire folder.  The wire fence is from Heartfelt.  All other dies from Spellbinders.  I also used the new 3-D paints (Chocolate) on the label and words.
Another Terry Medaris Stamp.  Colored and cut out.  Used the chicken wire folder again on the "sun".  The corrugated panel is finger painted with 3-D paints.  Here I used the wire fence die again.  I also added some "rhinestone" stickers from Elizabeth Designs on his hat and on his boots.  Used a metallic silver paint pen to add detail to his chaps and belt buckle.  Nailheads are from Mark Richards.
I used a basket weave embossing folder for this fishing card and some netting as well.
This is the lighthouse stamp I like to use.  This time it is day time.  Used two colors of cord to show off the nautical knot.  I also added some white painty pen to the water line to make it look like waves crashing on the rocks then glittered it a little. Scroll die is from Heartfelt Creations.

Man cards

Here are some "man" cards I made before Father's Day.
Used Copic Markers to color all but some have some other techniques involved.  On this first fishing card, I used some shimmer paper from Elizabeth Craft Designs and ran it through my machine with an embossing folder then rubbed some Staz-On on and finally sanded when it was dry.

Here I used a toothbrush to splatter the silver gears with embossing fluid then powdered it with Paprika from Stampendous creating a very rusty look.  Also ran some Coredination paper through with an embossing folder and sanded for the background.  Inked the edges of the white stamped paper to lessen the brightness of the white.
I ran some silver paper through with the diamond plate embossing folder and then rub some metallic rub-ons on.  I used a white painty pen from Zig to get the shine spots on the bike.  I also added some silver nailheads from Mark Richards in the corners.

Used an embossing folder on the white then made the chevron cuts on all the little and large flags.

Rock Climbing

Ok, here's a card I did for a challenge that required something outdoors for "him".  I did this with my husband in mind since he loves to go rock climbing.
I tore the edge of this double-double (black on one side and gray on the other), then sponged white then black paint on. Stamped the rock climbing dude (Stampington) on white, colored him with Copics then cut him out.  I used some fun cord for his climbing rope and a brad w/eye as his anchor.  The trees are Darcie's stamped twice on BoBunny light blue octagon paper.

Steampunk

Here is a card I created using heavy embossing powders and melting them under the paper to create a melted metal look for this Steampunk boot (by Stampendous). Two different view show the different colors in it depending on the angle.   I also used an embossing folder with gears on the green paper, before using the powders, and sanded it then distressed the edges of the paper.  The silver gears are a die from Spellbinders.
The embossing powders are from Stampendous as well.
I've had this stamp for a while but never really knew what to do with it...I just kinda like that steampunk look...which, I know, is different for me.  I usually go for flowers or cute kids.  It was fun to color though (Copics).

Fairy Friends

My-Besties again.  Such cute little fairy girls I can't help but want to color them.  This was a sketch challenge on SplitCoastStampers today.
I added rhinestones to their headbands to match their outfits.

Cheery Lynn #84 Creative Corners

"I am all ready for my Tea Party".  This little cutie by My-Besties was colored with Copic Markers.  I used a Cheery Lynn Doily and corners from white card stock and I used a little lime green chalk on the background.  Also added some glitter glue to her dress and some sheer green ribbon in the corner.  The rose was made from Heartfelt Creations Rose Creation die set and the leaves are Cheery Lynn.

Penny Black Little Dancer

This is a challenge card I did for SplitCoastStampers, I just love this little girl from Penny Black.  She is so happily doing her own little dance.
I used Copic Markers and some faux stitching.  Made a rose from Heartfelt rose die and paper tools (those little ball tools).  The sketch is borrowed from the challenge hostess.

Barnyard Friends

Haha! This is so funny! I love this barnyard stamp and have had it for years but used it for the first time today!   I was doing a SplitCoastStamper challenge and came up with this one.  The chicken wire embossing folder is perfect for this stamp.  I used a white core paper and after embossing it I sanded gently to get this look.
The animals are colored with Copic Markers.  The stamp is by "Eat Cake Graphics".

Stampendous Bird

Ok, so I know I haven't been putting much up lately but what I have been working on I can't put it up till after the 14th!!!  I can't wait! I will then bombard you with a ton of stuff I promise!
So, for today I will find another oldie but goodie.
Ah, here we go...another one of my birds!  Well what do you expect with a name like Robin? I love this little Bluebird in her nest by Stampendous!  She is so cute.  I cute out extra flowers to make them 3-D.  The oval is also cut out from the image (stamped it 3 times, background, oval and flowers).  Colored them all with Copics and used yellow glitter glue inside the flowers. I also put a little glitter glue in the eye.

Cheery Lynn Red, White and Blue #83 challenge

This is a Red, White and Blue card for Cheery Lynn Designs.  I used a variety of Cheery Lynn dies and a Magnolia stamp to make this card, plus some Spellbinder dies.  I used real string for the balloon which was an older Penny Black  stamp (instead of the round balloon that is normally on this Magnolia stamp). Also used an Inky Antics word stamp.
I used BoBunny paper and some Kaiser Craft paper for this card.

I love this little fairy by Penny Black Stamps.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  Used some of the fantastic dies from Spellbinders to set her off.

I am going a little nuts right now!  I'm working on some stuff that I can not share until a certain date and it is bugging me to nutsdom not sharing with you!
I'm going to post something I did awhile back in the mean time, K?

Ok, well this goes waaaay back!
I was experimenting with bleach on tan card stock (background). Then I used bleach on black card stock (front panel).  I used a variety of eclectic stamps for the background and a Stampington & Co. stamp on the front bleached out black.  Also experimenting with heavy embossing powder on a piece of disc then stamped into it for the embellishment.  Well, that was fun!  It's old but I still like it!  It was obviously before all the cool dies that are out now.

Welcome to the Lake

Well, it's that time of year again!  Everyone comes up here for the beauty all around us especially Bass Lake and Yosemite National Park!!  This is when Oakhurst/Mountain Community goes from the normal 10,000 people to ten times that on an average day throughout the summer.
So, Welcome to the Lake everyone and drive carefully out there.  We mountain people are crazy drivers! LOL!!
This is a Cheery Lynn Design die.  I cut it out of watercolor paper and used Twinkling H20s on it.  The background is glossy paper that I used a brayer on with Desert Heat ink pad (Kaleidacolor). BoBunny teal double dot paper.
