Extra Trading Cards laying around?

What to do with extra trading cards!! Well, use them in a card layout.  Here are four of mine from the last stamp escape here at Bass Lake (we do every year at the end of April/1st of May...Look at the Web site for The Cat's Meow Stamps.Com)

Poinsettias

This card is done all red and white!  The window is a polished stone technique (alcohol and inks on a cotton ball). and the window is a die cut from Memory Box.  The Poinsettias are dies from Spellbinder, formed and stacked.  The white branch is a Martha Stewart punch and the white scroll/leaves are from Cheery Lynn.

Cherry blossom die

This card starts with inking the embossing folder with pale pink. Then die cutting this beautiful cherry blossom branches and flowers.  The large sheer ribbon adds a touch of elegance!

UNFINISHED CHALLENGE-TO CREATE A PIECE LEAVING SOMETHING UNFINISHED

It goes against my nature to leave projects unfinished so this challenge really was a challenge for me. But I thought the best way for me to do this challenge was in a collage where the unfinished part would not really stand out too much and yet I would be fulfilling the requirements!  I know, sounds like cheating but it wasn't.
I used glazes by Golden, stamp by Stampington & Co., Linderella baubles of Dichroic glass, puzzle pieces, Gala Glitz by Art Glitter, Roxs by Judi-Kins, embossing powder by Stampendous, Fiber, netting (from a bag of avocados), Black Memento ink, spray shimmer inks, white acrylic paint, Adirondack Ink, Mod Podge and tacky glue.

Thistle

With all the new embossing folders by a wide variety of manufacturers and Decorative dies, especially the frame die sets, it is so easy to make a multi-layered card.  I absolutely LOVE dies and embossing folders.  I can hardly even make a card without using one or both and sometimes multiple sets as in this sample.
I used some paper flowers and layered them, glittered the ends and pearled them.  Used my Copic Markers to color some clear stick pins and added glitter to my purple thistle.
The die sets used on this card are from Spellbinders.

Bingo

ok, this is just funny!
love this old couple having the time of their lives.
This card was for a SCS challenge for ...yup, chevrons!
It was really fun to do and i could not think of anything but Bingo to go with it!
i did the Bingo on the computer and the stamp is by Diamonds (i don't think they are around anymore).

The Mermaid stamp is by Penny Black and the words are by Flourish stamps.

WooHoo! This card won the color challenge at Color Throwdown!

A.R.T. Card Challenge #5 Masculine Birthday/SCS foil tape challenge

Well, this is different for me.  I really love the whole Steampunk look though and this was definitely fun to do.  I did it today for a SCS challenge and for an A.R.T. Card challenge as well.  I covered the card with die cut pieces that I like and a few metal pieces then covered it with aluminum tape and used some metal working tools to create the detail.  Painted it black then rubbed it off. added some copper 3-D paint with my finger.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY-CHEERY LYNN CHALLENGE #87, CHALLENGE CHICKS CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi everyone, hope your 4th of July was fantastic!
Today I have a Christmas card done for the Cheery Lynn Challenge.  I used a Magnolia stamp and made it snow on her with glitter glue and liquid pearl.  The dies I used were: Holly Corners, French Lattice, and Felicity Doily from Cheery Lynn and the circle die from Spellbinders. I used a snowflake embossing folder by Sizzix on the background panel as well. The striped paper and ivory paper (lattice) is from BoBunny and the red plaid paper used for cutting out the doily is from Best Creations.  All is glued to a white card (4 3/4 X 6").
I used red rhinestones for the berries on the holly corner.

America the Beautiful

yup, This is America the beautiful!  Wonderful corners by Heartfelt Creation.
Our family likes to take road trip vacations because there is so much to see here in the states.  In fact, most every state is quite different and there is something amazing in each.

California Poppies

I made this card for a SCS challenge.  We were to do our State flower for the 4th. What a fun idea. Everyone does their state flower and we all get to see.
First I went on-line to get this Thermal map of California and printed it to card stock. I stamped Penny Black's Poppies on white card stock and colored them with Copics then cut them out.  The California is printed on my computer then colored on the outline with orange and die cut with Spellbinders.
The two large poppies are actually popped up but you can't really see it in this picture.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July and stay safe!

4th of July

This little girl is enjoying a fireworks show on the 4th of July! Stamp is by Stampavie, dies are by Cheery Lynn and Spellbinders.  I used Copic Markers to color her. My "fireworks" are full of glitter glue, stars and sparkly red button. I used emobbing folders on all three colors. Stars on the blue then sanded. the chevron on the red and white.  I had a red, white and blue ribbon.
