Horses

This card is for a sketch challenge from SplitCoastStampers.  It is also a challenge to use horses.
It has real suede fringe on it and brown lace.  I wound twine up on a large glue dot to make the embellishment at the bottom.  Stamps are from Coronado Island Stamping and Our Daily Bread Designs.
Rev. 19:14 " And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses".

A Light to My Path

Here is a card done for the Tea Potter's challenge...We were to do a card with a lighthouse on it.  This is my only lighthouse stamp.  I was told that is is an East Coast lighthouse because of the Lobster traps.  I had no idea what those wooded things were.
I also did this card for the color challenge which was orange, yellow and bluegreen.  I colored with Copics but added white color pencils and white acrylic paint to the water to make sea foam and splashes on the rocks.  I also added a bit of Stickles to the splashes on the rocks.  Since this card is going to a woman, I did a pretty frame and ribbon instead of cord and nautical knots.  The scripture is from Our Daily Bread Designs but the image is from Impression Obsession.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path".  Ps. 119:105

ODBDSLC188 Clean Heart

The new heart collection from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD).
Inside my card
This week's challenge at Shining the Light  is to do a card using the colors, Red, Pink and White.  Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) has some new stamps and dies that are just gorgeous!! Lots of hearts and the borders are fantastic!  Today I have used The Ornate Hearts Die set and The Beautiful Borders die set from ODBD, on the outside of my card. On the inside I used Clean Heart stamp set.  I masked an oval on the large heart to fit the words inside.

Friends

Just realized that this card never got posted.  Another Teapotters challenge...as most of you know by now, this is a group who do cards for people who have cancer or who have lost loved ones, some sort of situation that causes one to need comfort.  This card (and another exactly like it) went to two friends who are both fighting breast cancer, each supporting the other. One friend was taking her friend for treatments when she herself got news of a lump. Now they take turns taking each other to treatments.
The stamp is from Stamping Bella uptown girls. I paper pieced the skirt.  Just seems like the perfect stamp for friends needing comfort.
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." John 15:12

Hearts galore!

Some of the new heart stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD).  Look at these new border dies too. There is three in a set. The other one is on a card I will post later for the new challenge next week.
I'll be doing these for a class at the Cat's Meow in Oakhurst next month (second Saturday of Feb.).
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matt. 6:19-21

Hot Pots

Ok, this challenge is to use your location's temperature for your color scheme.  Well, in Cali it is very warm and infact, too warm for this time of year! I hate to be a downer but we are not doing well here. Water is way short and it is only January. Please pray for California. Most of the U.S. nuts, fruit and a lot of veggie and wine come from Cali, but not this year, not without water.  This is one of the worst years in recent history!!
Well, about the card. The stamp is by Terry Medaris and obviously, it is done in warm (mostly) colors. I did use a bit of cool colors for interest sake. The big pots have eyelets in it, an idea I got from someone's phone message...I know that sounds funny but she is an artist as well and I wonder if this is what she may have been thinking.
"The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing.  The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the excellence of our God". Is. 35:1-2
" Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert". Is. 43:18-19

So Sorry

Well, I don't really enjoy sympathy cards as it usually means something has happened to make someone sad and this is the case here.  A family just lost their daughter after a battle with disease.  The Tea Potters on SplitCoast Stampers are sending the family cards and this is the one I made for them.  It is an easel card, making it easy to display the front and inside at the same time but it folds up nice and flat for mailing.
The stamp set I used is from Eureka! Stamps but I've had it for a very long time so I'm not sure if it is still available.  The dies are from Spellbinders and Our Daily Bread Designs.
I used Copic Markers to color this image.  The image has a frame around it which I cut off and the I'm so sorry sentiment is part of the rose image not a separate stamp.
1 Thes. 4:14-18 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus....that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with a trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise up first.  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And thus we shall always be with the Lord.  Therefore comfort one another with these words".

ODBDSLC187-IT IS WELL

Hello my friends!  Today's card is from the inspiration photo below for the Shining the Light challenge
at Our Daily Bread Designs.  For more inspiration, please visit my very talented design team sisters:
To see all the creations in one place or join the challenge, click HERE.  You have until January 26th to join us.  For this challenge you may use any stamps but if you have any Our Daily Bread Design stamps we would love to see you use them.  If you participate, you have a chance to win the $15 certificate toward ODBD stamps or to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award (Shining the Light Award is only for those who use ODBD stamps).  We would love to see your creations.

Today I have used:  It Is Well With My Soul background stamp
                               Canning Jars
                               Canning Jar dies
                               Spellbinder dies
gold/yellow delica beads for flower centers.
I had to draw in the stems because when using die cuts, you can't make them look like they are inside the jar.

Matthew 6:28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?"  God takes care of us so be at peace.

Lavender

Here is another Apothecary bottle card. Love these bottles and labels from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD). The lavender coming out the top is also from ODBD. I think there must be a hole in that cork for the flowers, don't you think?
The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and the pearl design...sorry, not sure.
Ps. 119 How sweet are Your words...

Think Happy Thoughts

This was done for a pattern challenge.  I think I have enough patterns don't you.  I just love this little dragon by Wee Stamps.  It is sooo cute.
I did some sewing around the card on my machine. The border is from a Martha Steward border punch.
The blossoms are a die set from Spellbinders.

Ps. 63:6 "When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.  Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.  My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me."

I put my trust in His word.

This was for an inspiration challenge at SCS. My inspiration was from a design seed.here.
I love this flower stamp from Mark's Finest stamps and paper. I stamped the large one once and the smaller one twice to give it more dimension.  I also popped each layer up.  My background stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) and I embossed it with white then rubbed Lime Green Brilliance over it. The scripture  is also from ODBD and cut out with ODBD Antique Labels and Borders. The flower itself is mounted on a frame from ODBD, Ornate borders and flowers, which has been embossed with Victorian Purple Brilliance and clear powder.
The background scrolly die cuts are from Spellbinders.
"The Lord shall preserve you from evil; He shall preserve your soul.  The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore". Ps 121:7-8

Steampunk Horse

Sorry, I seemed to have gone missing but last week was very busy.  I went to CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) show in Anaheim with our local store owner Sharon and another designer/teacher, Melissa. We had a great time and even met up with and shared a very large suite with a couple of sweet designers from Texas, Joy and Debbie!!! It is fun but a lot of walking aisle after aisle talking to distributor, company associates and looking at so much new product, you can't remember what you've seen!!
Today, I have my Steampunk Horse from Susana's Custom Arts. The gears are little wooden things I've painted with Viva 3-D paint The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs.
If you are wondering how I made my black mat behind the horse it was done using a tool called Magic Matter.  I've had it for years and don't even know if it is still available, sorry. The glitter strips are from using Score tape and Elizabeth Craft Designs fine glitter. (the challenge was to use tape, any tape in some way).
"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." Ps. 20:7

ODBDSLC186-JAR OF HOPE

Hello friends,
Today I'm excited to share this card  for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This is the sketch for this week's challenge.
For more inspiration, please visit my very talented design team sisters:
To see all the creations in one place or join the challenge, click HERE.  You have until January 19th to join us.  For this challenge you may use any stamps but if you have any Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) stamps we would love to see you use them.  If you participate, you have a chance to win the $15 certificate toward ODBD stamps or to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light Award (The Shining the Light Award is only for those who use ODBD stamps).   We would love to see your creations.
For my sketch challenge card, I've used the following stamps and dies:
ODBD-Apothecary Bottles stamp set and matching dies.
ODBD-Ornate Frame Sentiments stamp set
ODBD-Joy in a Jar stamp set (it also has a coordinating die set "Antique Labels")
ODBD-Quatrefoil Pattern Die
and Spellbinders Ovals and scalloped ovals
Border punch
Graphic 45 paper
ribbon, pearls, sequins and tiny tag.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".  Hebrews 11:1
"Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".  Hebrews 11:6
My hope comes from knowing God and knowing that He wants the best for me.  Sometimes it doesn't seem to be that way but if we are patient and wait for God's timing, we see that He does everything for a reason.  We just have to trust Him.  Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11-13  Read it and be encouraged!

Little beginner fairy!

This little fairy is by Sugar Nellie and the words and banner are from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I used a lot of glitter on this card as well as glittered paper. I colored her with Copics and used colored pencils for some shading (and lines in her hat). It was part of a challenge at SCS to use pencils and alcohol markers to color. The poinsettias are white, brushed with pink Brilliance, centers have pink Stickles.
I will be sending this card to my sister Donni who is a breast cancer survivor. She could use a little lift any time!!
Thanks for coming by to look!

Lacy layered pretties!

Saturday we had a challenge to get inspiration from a pinterest site that had nothing but nighties on it!  These cards are the results of what I saw.  Love these lacy cards!!! I love my dies and embossing folders and this challenge really gave me the opportunity to use them!!
The top card's image is from Flourishes and the Love die is from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The other dies are made by Spellbinders.
The bottom card stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs scriptures.  The dies are from Spellbinders, Marianne Designs and Cheery Lynn Designs.  Embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
I also used some real lace, ribbon and pearls on this card!
This was so fun and if I had more time on Saturday I would have done one more that I had an idea for.  Next time!

ODBD-His Eye is on the Sparrow

I liked this sketch challenge from SCS so I decided to do another one.  This is the Sparrow and Thistle from Our Daily Bread Designs. The die under the circle cut-away is from ODBD as well.
The corner is from Cheery Lynn Designs and Asters are from Spellbinders.
Used Stickles-Diamond on the Thistle.  Gold micro beads in the flower centers.
The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.

Our Daily Bread Designs- Apothecary Bottles

Here is a new stamp set and matching dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It is called the Apothecary Bottles.  The Labels are another set...there are several labels in the set saying all kinds of lovely things.  I cut away the circle and added the lattice die cut  then the black and white dot paper.  The corner is from the Ornate Borders and Flowers die set.
Formed flowers are from Spellbinder-Asters  and flourishes are from Cheery Lynn Designs- right and left mini flourish.
Round tag is just a standard key tag.  Also used silver metallic ribbon and silver micro beads.
