ODBDSLC192-THE LORD LOVES US

Hello everyone!! Today I'm sharing my shaped card. This week the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) is to make a card that has a shape other than straight lines, no squares or rectangles for THIS challenge!  For this card I used He Watches Me, Tulip Corner, Faith, Ornate Frames Sentiments, Ornate Flowers and Borders stamps, Antique Labels and Borders Die, and Heart and Soul paper collection.
I used Copic Markers to color.  This is an Easel card and the sentiment inside is popped up so the the card top can rest on top of it when open.  It is very easy to display this way.

"Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?...But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."  Matt. 6:25-26 & 33

Angel to help

Tea Potters challenge and sketch challenge at SCS.  This week our card is going to Rita who has been battling a number of illnesses. The Image is from Penny Black the words are Hero Arts.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and go and pray to ME, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me,  when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord..." ODBDSLC191-SECRETLY ADMIRE...

We are suppose to case a card from a person that we admire, well I chose Grace for this challenge.  There are many I admire, especially from Our Daily Bread Designs but I could only choose one and I have liked this card layout since the first time I saw it at SplitCoastStampers.  This is the card that I cased:

So, this week at the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) we are to case a card from a person we admire.  Pick someone who has been an inspiration to you, someone you admire as a card maker and pick a card to case.  Make sure you reference the person and the card when you enter your card.

Pine needle frame

I made this card for and Inspiration challenge. It actually took two days to complete.  Yesterday I gathered pine needles from the yard, boiled them (to get all the sap out without making them stiff) and then dried them by the woodstove overnight. Today I glued them to my cardstock circle opening, let it dry then filled in with more pine needles, let it fry and trimmed it off even with the cardstock.  I sprayed it with gloss finish.
I used Copics to color the image by Flourishes then matted it with rust in a smaller circle than my pine needle mat.  The pine needle mat is popped up and I wound twine around it at the bottom before mounting it to my folded card.  This is the first time I've tried this but I have friends who make baskets out of pine needles so this was nothing compare to that.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of host, He is the King of glory.  Ps. 24:8-10

Penny Black-new stamps

Here are some new Penny Black cards I've done with some of the new release.  I will be doing 3 Easter Cards from Penny Black at my next class at the Cat's Meow!
The middle card is one of the images I will be using.  The two little fairies are from a set (there are actually 4 little fairies in all...I think the other two are butterfly fairies.)  They are just adorable.

Sing to the Lord

This card was made to send to a lady who has been having a difficult time lately. To encourage her. She loves purple and she loves the Bible so this is the card I made using Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set "Oh Sing to the Lord.  The ribbon is dyed seam binding. The bird and two of the blossoms are popped up.  This is a Tea Potter's challenge over at SCS.  Come join in...we send cards each week to those that need it.
Oh sing to the Lord a new song...

Valentine

Well, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!! Our challenge today over at SCS (SplitCoastStampers) was to do something RED with Valentine's Day approaching! This is what I call red.  I embossed the background with Red on Red embossing powder. I die cut two of the hearts and the border from red glitter paper, used red velvet ribbon and I stenciled red Versafine ink into the holes on the small white heart die cut before removing the die.
All Stamps and dies are from Our Daily Bread Designs: Ornate Hearts die set; Beautiful Borders die set; Bird Cage and Banners die set; Ornate Background stamp; and Banner Sentiments stamp set.
Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me!

ODBDSLC190-TRUE LOVE

Bird Cage & Banners, Ornate Hearts, Fancy Foliage Die sets
Hello friends! This week my card for Shining the Light challenge is double silver and purple hearts because the challenge this week is to do a Valentine in NON traditional colors! I embossed the large heart from the Bless Your Heart stamp set in silver with silver embossing powder and heat set.  I used the large die from the Ornate heart die set to cut out the silver scalloped hearts. I also used the Beautiful Border die set to cut the elegant silver fringe border.  The white background panel is embossed and I used some leaves from the Fancy Foliage die set in white above the hearts.  The sentiment "Two Hearts One Love" is from the Love Birds stamp set and the "I love you so much" sentiment on the hearts is from the Banner Sentiments stamp set and Bird Cage and Banners die set.

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." Eph. 5:31  "Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek it's own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails...and now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1 Cor. 13: 4-8 & 13

ODBDSLC189-LOVE RECIPE

ODBD Heart and Soul paper collection
Oh my goodness, I LOVE these new heart stamps and dies!!! They are gorgeous!  I like all the colors that have been done with them as well...go check out my design team sister's blogs! Wow!!
The Shining the Light challenge is week is a WORD recipe.  You need to use things on your card that start with the letters, L-O-V-E.  Today my card recipe is L=lovely paper lace, O=octagon frame, V= Valentine sentiment and E= embossing (bottom part of the card).
I threaded ribbon through the holes of the paper lace, sewed around the edges, popped up the octagon frame, added a little metal key to the heart and Liquid Pearls-white around the flowers and flourishes.  I tied little knots in the ribbon going through the sentiment tag and added a ribbon bow under the flowers. I used the Bless Your Heart stamp set, the Fancy Foliage Die set, the Ornate Heart die set, and the Beautiful Borders die set.
