Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #227-Use a Silhouette Stamp

MFP stamps used: Oriental Joy and Hum Along
The challenge this week is to use a silhouette stamp.  This MOSTLY solid stamp is the closest I have to a silhouette stamp.  I did my background with alcohol inks on glossy paper.
my circle dies are from Little B.  The sentiment label die is by Taylored Expressions.
I also added a sheer black bow and used an embossing folder on the purple layer.

DRS challenge #137-It Gives Me The Creeps

The challenge this week is "It gives me the creeps"  Something spooky.
Of course, my card is not really spooky but more like fun, especially the sentiment!
DRS stamps used:  057E Ghouls just want to have fun greeting, 191C Sm. ghost, 810D add a fence, 688P Polka Dot background, 141H Silhouette spooky village (new release)
I used the dots background stamp for the grass, just to add some fun then sponged with green.  My spooky haunted houses were stamped and then masked while I sponged the sky in sunset colors. I took the mask off and colored the windows with a yellow glow, the moon as well.  The houses have a kind of misty look about them. I stamped the ghosty ghouls separately then colored and cut out.  I like the fence as a foreground because it looks a little rickety.
My sentiment  has google eyes attached and the panel is layered over "Boo" ribbon.

Interlocking gate fold mermaid

Colored with Copic Markers. I used an oval and a decorative oval from Spellbinders to make this card's interlocking "doors" (see small photo, it is partly open). I meant to put Stickles on the tail but forgot.  I did a little "out of the box" die cutting on the image, leaving the rock out to act like a little fastener for my doors.
Inside is another oval set so that WHEN I find the right words, I can stamp them.
This image is from Penny Black.
The card was done for SplitCoastStampers, two challenges, the color challenge and the new technique challenge...which was the interlocking gate fold.

ODBDSLC212 Sketch week 2

ODBD Stamps used: Noah's Ark
ODBD Paper used: Christian Faith Collection
I turned the sketch on it's side for this sample.  You may turn it any way you wish or reverse it, it is fine any which way you want it!
Noah's Ark is another new stamp (for me) and I was happy to use it here.  The little animals are so cute!!  I used Copic Markers to color my image and I used Stickles on the waves under the boat.  What better paper to use with my ark than the Christian Faith collection with the fish all over it!  On this sample I have used ribbon with little enamel white dots to make my banner elements.

Looking forward to seeing your creation!!!
So, this week I have made a baby card and that reminds me of new life.  New life always reminds me of what we have when we come to Jesus.  He gives us new life, we are spiritually born again. Our hearts are cleansed, our spirits are made new.  We go from our own darkness to His wonderful light!
Therefore, if  anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all have become new. II Cor. 5:17  I am amazed that God loves us so much!! He dug me out of a deep mucky pit and set me up on high places.  He has made me His daughter!!!  You can be His too...email me, I'll tell you how.
Thank you for coming to visit today!!

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #226-CAS

MFP stamps used: Sun & Moon
The challenge today is Clean and Simple (CAS).  This really is a challenge to me as I do not do CAS cards for the most part.  It is really hard for me to just STOP!   I decided to cut a circle out of my top panel and then use a circle die with holes as an embossing tool. I inserted the sun in the window and added a simple sentiment.

DRS CHALLENGE 136 COLOR

Hello everyone!  Time to get spooky!!! I love the great colors used in Halloween cards now.  Not just orange and black like when I was growing up but purple, lime green, yellow and the old standards too!
It makes for much more colorful cards!!
To see all the designers cards and join in the challenge, click HERE.
I've used DRS stamps: 136F Spooky Tree Limb, 517A Accent Bats, 898C Small Bat and Moon, and 134D Count Porkula.  Th Moon, ground and Count Porkula were colored with Copic Markers.  I then masked those areas and sponged color into the background. (The stamps with no link will be available after August 31st.)
For the frame I used water color sprays on water color paper then used an around the card web punch set from Martha Stewart.  The background was also sprayed with Water color sprays (Stampzia).
The challenge this week is to use the colors in this inspiration Design Seed:
Happy stamping and hope you have a great weekend!!

ODBDSLC212 Sketch

ODBD stamps used: Apples
ODBD Paper used: Blushing Rose Collection
ODBD dies used: Pennants
I recently bought this stamp image of the apples and have been wanting to color them, so today's sketch was perfect for it!  I used Copic Markers to color the image.  The paper I used for most of the other elements on this sketch card are from Blushing Rose collection which is so lovely.  It has some inked looking edges so I inked all of my edges to match.  I used the pennant die set to create my little banners under the apple barrel, using 4 different papers from the set.  The ribbon is seam binding that I dyed.  On the white panel I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then used Liquid Pearls to make my own little "pearls" on each crossing.  The color was perfect and I think it is actually called rose as well.
Here is the sketch for the next two weeks of challenge.

The verse on my card reminds me of the great love our heavenly Father has for us!!
He loves us with a never ending love...whenever I feel down or anxious I like to read the Psalms because it reassures me of God's love for me!!  It also reminds me that we are only human and we, even the best of us, get discouraged from time to time or we blow it and have to seek forgiveness.  The best part about being a Christian isn't that we are perfect, it is that we are assured forgiveness when we are not, if we will just confess it to Him (He already knows anyway!!) and turn from our selfish ways. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord...If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 3:23. 5:8, 6:23 and 10:9-10  Jesus was quick to forgive sin but He always said, "Go and sin no more"...it isn't that we can be perfect after meeting Christ, it is a matter of not practicing evil ways...in other words, don't keep doing what you know God has told you is wrong in His word or with the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.  When you come to Christ you turn 180 degrees, from darkness to His light!  Keep walking in the light my friends!
Thanks for coming and visiting with me.

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #225-9 Square Background

MFP stamps used: Coneflowers
Today's challenge is to use 9 squares.  I made 9 squares for my background with yellow and matted each one with orange.  I punched a trio of butterflies (Martha Stewart punch). and added a rhinestone to each for a head.  The sentiment panel was die cut with a Spellbinder label die and I threaded it with a sheer orange ribbon.

DRS CHALLENGE #135 BIRTHDAY

This has been one of those weeks! Wow! I've been super busy over at SplitCoast being one of the hostesses for the Dare To Get Dirty challenge week!! I think there were 3000 cards turned in for this last week for about 50 challenges.  Can you believe some people did a card for each challenge!
So, here now is the Thursday challenge for DRS...Birthday!  This is a very easy challenge...anything Birthday will be great!
I used DRS stamp 761 H Brush Birthday Greeting for the inside, 1073L Daffodil Butterfly circle for the main image and 363H Silhouette Branch Background for my paper.  First I stamped the paper background with VersaMark then again in gold. I cut the filigree frame with a Spellbinders card maker die set.
My Butterfly circle was colored with Copics, cut out then I used a gold leaf pen around the edge.

Reflections

Good morning everyone!!
This is one of the cards I did for Dare To Get Dirty over at SplitCoastStampers.  It is done on water color paper so the ink did not want to transfer well from my reverse image (image by Memory Box).  I first tried stamping onto an acrylic block to transfer but that did NOT work at all in this case.  I then used a piece of smooth rubber that I bought years ago to carve.  I stamped my image on it and quickly stamped it onto my card.  As you can see, the image lines are not quite so pronounced but in this case I felt it was a good thing.  Probably one big mistake I made was to put dabs of color on the trees first.  I should have done the sky first as it is a wash and would not lift and mix as easily as the yellow leaves and you know what happens when you mix yellow and blue together.  That worked ok in the water here and there because it's water but I did NOT want green in my sky!!  I really had to take care in the way I moved my brush around up there.
The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It seemed perfect for this card as the water has to be still or quiet to show a reflection.
So it is with our hearts...When your heart is quiet and emptied of your "self", that is, your own desires, your own way, your own anything...you can then reflect more of Christ.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God" Romans 12:2
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us..." Eph. 4:32-5:2
I would just like to add, referring to the verse in Romans, that the way to renew our minds and be transformed into His image is to read His word daily and sit in quiet with Him and in prayer to Him.
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" Ps. 51:10

ODBDSLC211 Sketch week 2

ODBD paper used: Rustic Beauty
ODBD dies used: Beautiful Borders
For today's card I have turned the sketch upside down.  I added a couple of heart shaped pearls that I changed color with Copic Markers to better match the border color I used.  I love the Rustic Beauty papers and this one really goes well with the old wood fence post in my image.  This lantern has been lighting the path to home for a long time as you can tell by all the rust!!  It may be rusty but it still does the job!

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #224-Feathers

MFP stamps used: Hum Along
Today I used feather paper as I have no feather stamps. But my Hummer has feathers so I chose to you him for my main image.  I distressed the edges of my feather paper before adding it to my blue panel and used the same blue paper for my sentiment panel (Taylored Expressions).

DRS Challenge 134 Hot Trends, Chevrons and Arrows

DRS stamps used: 1145C Enjoy Today, and 291K Strawberries
Oh my goodness, don't those strawberries look yummy!! They are colored with Copic Markers and I also used a white pigment pen on the seeds.   Hard to see but there is an acrylic arrow above the sentiment and I used a chevron embossing folder on the lower part of the red panel.  The upper part was die cut using a chevron die.  This challenge is all about using chevrons and arrows...let's see your creations using these really popular shapes.  To join in the challenge and see the other designer's cards, click HERE.

ODBDSLC211-SKETCH WEEK 1

ODBD stamps used: Ocean Treasures
ODBD papers: Rustic Beauty Collection
This is a shaker card.  I have used a plastic self adhesive container to hold sand with the stamped image of the sand dollar.  The shells and star fish are real.  In case you can't read the sentiment it says "You can shake the sand from your shoes but it will never leave your soul".

MFP Speedy Fox & Friends #223- Stamped background

MFP stamps used: Great Flowers.
Today's challenge is to use a stamp to make your background.  I used a stamp from this set that is partly solid partly open and stamped it several times with Shell Pink (just a little darker than the paper) then stamped again in-between the first stamped flowers with Unicorn White (opaque white pigment ink).  I think it made a nice soft background (better seen in real life of course).
The ribbon is actually about the same color as the paper IRL as well.
I used an Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug for the white panel.
You can find this challenge by clicking HERE.
