Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #218- Mesh

Hi friends,  This week the challenge is to use mesh.  Yup, it's that easy.  I've used a faux metal mesh behind my Spellbinders die.  The pear was colored with alcohol inks and then the berries and leaves were done separately with Copic Markers. I cut the pear out and popped it up. The sentiment is from the Friends stamp set and I used VersaFine Black and black powder to emboss.  I used a red pen to line the sentiment die cut. The paper is gold shimmer and red linen.  Also added a gold metallic bow.

DRS Challenge #128 Something New

Hi everyone!!
The challenge this week is to use something new to you!! That should be easy or maybe you can use it for an excuse to buy something new, (That would be me most of the time)!! For me this week, I have this new embossing folder that I haven't used yet (got it a couple weeks ago).  I also used corner dies.
DRS stamp used: Leaf Butterfly Spray 1098M.  I stamped the butterfly and right flower twice and colored then cut them out to pop up!  I also popped up the oval with main image.  I used the out-of-the-box cutting method when cutting the oval so that I would not cut off the butterfly wing and the upper left leaf.
I used some of my favorite colors, purple and green.

DRS Thursday Color Challenge

Hello everyone!! This challenge is based on the colors in this color seed above.  I used DRS stamps: 454M-Girly Swirly Birthday Cake, 482F-Lost Track Birthday Greeting, and 363H-Silhouette Branch on my card. I stamped the bottom part of the cake twice so that I could pop up the flowers! The background stamp was used on the blue panels and the pink panel with VersaMark.  I used some seam binding I dyed for the bow and a dot embossing folder for the tan panels.  The sentiment inside is popped up so that the bottom of the front can rest inside it for display! I love this kind of card!
I hope you will try these colors and submit your entry HERE.
I don't know about you but I can definitely use these funny kind of sentiments for my family and  friends!!!
I used Copic Markers to color my image.
Card base is 11 X 4 1/4 (half sheet). Score at 5 1/2 and on one side only score again at 2  3/4 (make this fold a valley. Your card top will be glued to this side with bottom of card and bottom of front panel even.  The front can stand up at whatever angle you like depending on where you pop up your sentiment on the inside of card.

ODBDSLC207-ONE LAYER

Hi everyone!! Today I'm sharing my card for the ONE LAYER challenge, Shining the Light at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD).  You can use just the card base OR the card base and one layer, which is what I did here.  I used the Vintage Flourish Pattern die as an embossing tool to make my overall background and lightly chalked it.  I then used the Decorative Vase in the same way (instead of using the cutting plate I used the rubber and embossing plate on top of the die.  It will not cut all the way through and instead makes an embossed impression of the die).  I Chalked the vase heavily with pink and then I made a reserve mask for the vase and inked the edges.  I masked the top of the vase and stamped the roses in a light gray watercolor proof ink (die ink from Hero Arts). I used a combo of Tombow ink pens and InkTense pencils with a water brush.  (I should have JUST used the InkTense pencils).  After this dried I did a little coloring outside of the flowers then used Liquid Pearls to make some "Babies Breath".
For the "Miss You", I stamped just the "Miss" by inking the stamp with a pen, then added the word "you" below the same way.  The space was so small and I could not add another layer for words so this is the way I chose to do it!
When I was finish coloring I decided to cut away part of the pattern for my Vintage Flourish Pattern die background.  I put the die back on top of my FINISHED panel (I know crazy right?) then I put the panel in cock-eyed with the cutting plat just on top of the part I wanted to cut.  I then ran it just to the end of the cutting plate and took it out.  I DID have to finish cutting in a couple spots.  This technique is normally for an edge, like part of a square etc.
Finally, I added rhinestones and a bow (which is NOT considered another layer).
ODBD stamps used: Rose Bouquet
ODBD dies used: Vintage Flourish Pattern, Decorative Vase

DRS CHALLENGE 126 -MAKE A BORDER

DRS stamps used: 272D "You Brighten My Day"
                              441A Argyle Dimond
                              438P Argyle Background
                              087K Tree House
                              293P Stonewall and Gate
Today's challenge is to make a border.  I have a couple borders on this card.  I stamped a background stamp at the top and cut it to be a border.  I also added two lines of grass border at the bottom made with a Martha Stewart punch.
I used a scalloped edge with ink to create my sky and everything else was colored with Copic Markers except the back layer of grass, I used Pan Pastels to darken it a little.
This little guy is enjoying the tree house he and his dad built together.  He is so happy to have a place to go where little sister can't follow!

ODBDSLC206-PINK, TAN AND IVORY

Hello everyone! This week's Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) is to create a card using Pink, Ivory and Tan.
I've created this card on a base of tan, then using the Vintage Flourish Pattern die, I cut an ivory panel.  I used pre-emboss pink paper to cut the elegant oval (Spellbinders) then used the inside dies from Vintage Flourish Pattern die set to cut another tan layer.  The bird (my favorite) and blossoms ivory panel was cut from the nesting ovals and the "out of the box" technique for his tail feathers. The bird is from Sing to the Lord stamp set and the blossoms on top plus the words are from the new June release, Cherry Blossoms.
I added Tan satin ribbon to the ivory die cut before laying it down then glued a piece of ivory lace to it.  I sewed around the edges catching the lace with a zig-zag stitch.  After all layers were down I used a couple of glue dots to adhere my triple loop bow and I used Liquid Pearls on the Stamen of the flowers.
You can find the stamps and dies I used by clicking on the sets below.
ODBD stamps used: Cherry Blossom and Sing to the Lord
ODBD dies used: Vintage Flourish Pattern

North Coast-Glamping

 Outside of Pop up card
This is what the inside of the card looks like before inserting it and adding all the little elements.
 Inside-eye level
Inside looking down.
Today we are taking a look back at North Coast Creations May Release, here is the card I created. For more inspiration using the May Release be sure to visit the NCC Blog.
This is made with the Happy Camper stamp set from North Coast Creations.
I made the pop up cards by making slits in the inside card.  The large pop up for the trailer has an extra set of slits on the right side for the fire-pit.    This is really simple to do and makes a really cute surprise for the recipient.   This trailer camping is called Glamping (Glamorous camping).
See all the creations for this look back.

DRS Challenge 125 Pets R Us

Hi everyone! This is my first challenge card for DRS Design and I'm so happy to be part of the DRS design team!!  Today's challenge is to do a pet or pet sympathy card.  Can you tell I'm a dog person??  I lost my loving pal, Cody, a couple years ago so I know how people feel when they lose a pet...your pet is part of the family!  Here is an easy card you can do to let your friend know you care, or come up with one of your own card and join the challenge HERE.
To make this card I used the Pet Sympathy stamp, 1074G and the dog bone, 080A.  I finished it off with some dies, embossing folders, corrugated kraft,  pop dots and twine.

ODBDSLC205-White on White

This week Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) is to create a white on white card.  Here is what I used to make this card.
ODBD stamps used: Chalkboard Fan Background, Flourish Label Borders, Holy Angels
ODBD dies used: Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern, Beautiful Borders, Angel Wings, Ornate Hearts
I used some silver embossing powder to allow for some definition with the stamping. So the background stamp, frame outlines and words were done in silver.  This kind of card would make a really nice wedding card using the Lovebird stamp set or one similar.   Each layer is popped up with foam tape.
I also added some sheer white ribbon, some clear Wink of Stella and some white pearls.
