DRS Challenge #163 All Ears

Good morning everyone!
Today starts a new challenge..."all ears".  Just use an image or die cut with ears.
Today I used the new release bunny ears on my Easter egg.
I used stitched oval dies by Die-namic and A2 rectangle dies by Spellbinders
This was really fun to make and color with all the pretty pastels! I love the jelly beans and making them all colors was my cup of tea. the egg was also very fun to color and blend colors with Copic Markers. To top it off this pink polka dot ribbon seems just the thing.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join the challenge, a prize is given each week!!!

ODBDSLC228 NO COLORING CHALLENGE

Good morning to you!
Today starts a new challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.
Our challenge is to make a card with NO COLORING.  You can use colored ink as I have for my Queen Anne's Lace bouquet but do not color your image.
ODBD stamps used: Life is a Gift, Scripture Collection 12
ODBD dies used: Asters and Leaves, Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern, Beautiful Borders
ODBD papers: Christian Faith Collection
I cut each size aster die several times in white and a light lavender to get these nice full flowers, then formed each on a foam mat and flower tool.  I stamped the wild flowers (Queen Anne's Lace) with lavender on white then stamp the scripture on top with black and die cut with Vintage Labels.  I cut out the Vintage Flourish Pattern and the Beautiful borders  cie with white and sponged lavender on the stitch lines of the Vintage Flourish Pattern.  The Christian Faith paper is behind the Vintage Flourish Pattern die cut.  I made a multi-loop bow with lavender ribbon and stuffed it under the three asters.  The lavender heather is a pre-made flower that I bought.

Someone gave me a "Name" plate for Robin one time (It is hanging in the hallway) and this was the verse that was given for my name (the verse on my card).  I cherish that Name plate not for giving me the meaning of my name but for that scripture because that was me.  I felt like I was in a deep pit full of muck and mire, a world of darkness before I gave Jesus my heart.  Now I am standing firm on the Rock and in His wonderful light. It has been many years since that day of decision but I remember it as yesterday when I think of God's mercy upon my life.  How thankful I am that He loves me and that He gave everything so that I might live.
"But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter of my head".  Psalms 3:3
"Lord, protect me from those things that turn my attention from You. Clear the eyes of my heart so they can focus on the splendor of Your creation. Thank You for the blessings of this day". This is a little quoted prayer from a book called Daily Praise from the Bible.  I think it is a wonderful prayer that I will be repeating (or something like it) every day for now on!

ODBDSLC227 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Good morning everyone!
Today's challenge is an inspiration challenge!!

ODBD stamps used: Life is a Gift (New release)

This is the inspiration photo for this challenge.
Well, I went for the bouquet and pretty colors of this inspiration photo for this challenge.
The new Queen Anne's Lace wild flower bouquet was perfect.  I used some white Liquid Applique on the Queen Anne's Lace and some Liquid Pearls-Coral on the little red blossoms to give this card extra texture and dimension.
The frame is a coral color and I used white pigment ink to sponge on the die before removing it to give the outside stitches a bit more definition. I dyed the ribbon to match.

When I see wild flowers anywhere, I always thank God for the beauty He has created for us to enjoy! They all have different colors, shapes and smells.  It amazes me when I think of the thousands of flowers, the thousands of scents and variety of color and shape of each flower.  Same with the trees, they are all so different and smell different...what an awesome God we serve!  And to think that He loves me, He knows me by name.  One of my favorite Psalms is 139, especially 139:13-16
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb.  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.  My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.  And in Your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

I will give thanks with my whole heart! Thanks for the air I breathe, thanks for the trees that eat up the bad stuff in the air and produce oxygen for us. Thanks for a beating heart to give thanks with.   And  I give thanks most of all for His grace and mercy in my life!! I thank Him for a beating heart to give thanks with...I know, I know, we give thanks with our brains and our mouth, but it is really more than that!  What we call our heart is something inside us that is not just our brains. Our soul? Our spirit? The combination of soul, body and spirit?  Whatever it is it seems to me that I praise God with my whole being which is what I call my heart.
Thanks for visiting today!! Comments are appreciately!!

DRS Challenge #160 White Out!

Good morning!
This is fun! Our challenge today is called white out.  Use all white on your card except for your stamp, you can use colored ink.
My card is done with white embossed linen with pearl embellishments then a "Joy" die set with each layer popped up.  The heart is Spellbinders and has the sentiment stamped on it with the rest of the sentiment inside which says "Full of Love & happiness". I used Memento red for the sentiment.
I finished the card off with a nice big white satin bow!

ODBDSLC225-COLOR CHALLENGE

Good morning everyone!

ODBD papers used: Blushing Rose Collection
I've chosen the minty green, light and dark rose along with the sand color and that darkest brownish color.  I started with the sand color base and stamped my roses then edged with Tea Dye an colored with Copics in the rose colors. I used the Blushing Rose paper to cut the Flourish Pattern frame and stenciled the stitch border with Tea Dye. The Fancy Foliage is minty green and the Beautiful Border is rose pink.  I also cut the mini tag from the rose paper and stamped the "A gift for you" sentiment on it.   Lots of ribbon and pearls to embellish!

When I think of Roses, I think of the beauty and wonderful fragrance of the flower but I also think of the thorns that pretty much every rose bush has. Thorns- like the thorns placed on Jesus head when he was crucified.  This was love, not that we loved Him, but that He loved us when we were still sinners!  He did this for us even when we were so far from Him! This is love!

Woodland Fairy

I thought that I had better share this card on my blog since my wonderful son saw it posted on Facebook, shared it,  then told people to visit my blog. He is such a sweetie and probably one of my biggest fans! I have to say that my adorable husband is also my biggest fan!  So, here we are, I did this kind for a Tea Potter's challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  First, I printed my digi stamp image the size I wanted it to be (Digi by Make It Crafty).   She is colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  I then stamped the large, viney tree from Beeswax and colored with Copics then fussy cut out.  Lastly, I stamped the large mushroom from Tiddly Inks and colored then fussy cut.  My background piece was done a few weeks ago when I was doing another challenge.  I sprayed Dylusion inks on a kraft sheet (you can also use a piece of aluminum foil for this process). Then you spray a bunch of water on the inks and drag your cardstock (or watercolor paper, which this is) through it, saturating the paper. I then poured some Kosher coarse salt on it and let it dry on it's own (no help from a heat gun or hair dryer).  The salt needs time to soak up the color.  After it is dry, I brush it off and iron it out flat.
I glued my tree and mushroom to the background and then popped the fairy up.any white paper left on the images were colored to match the background. I finished this card off by painting her wings with Stickles Crystal and dabbing a bit on the background on the salt marks (sort of like fireflies).   She is looking up at some crystal beads.
I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
