ODBDSLC279 Challenge Reminder-Color

Good morning!
Time for a challenge reminder.  You still have until November 6th to join in.
Find the link to submit your card on the ODBD blog site HERE.
There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.

This card features the new Home For The Holidays stamp set.
ODBD dies: Oval, Pierced Oval
This card is a reverse out of the box technique card.  I stamped my lamppost/sign on white card stock and then die cut my oval leaving the lamppost out.  To do this it takes a bit of backward thought.  I drew around my oval on the outside where the oval meets the lamppost, cut a large hole inside where the oval is going so that I can get my scissors in to cut to the points where my lamppost meets the oval.  Place my oval die on the pencil marks and under the lamppost that I cut to because I don't want that part to get cut by the die.
On another piece of white card stock I stamped the Joys of The Season tree several times and used some torn paper to make my snow hills.  I added a few splashes of yellowish color on the snow (NOT yellow snow) to reflect the light from the lamppost.
I popped up my top lamp layer up over the inside scene.
My lamppost is colored with Copic Markers and my sky is sponged and then splattered with white acrylic paint for snow.  I used some more torn paper for the snow on my foreground.
Everything was then glued to a white folded card.

Verse of the day:

The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Super card and great cutting - I am sure I would have chopped the lamp!

Oh wow Robin this is jaw dropping incredible. I would have lopped the lamppost in half for sure! Your colouring is out of this world and I love all the snowy parts. I hope this comment works, I just failed proving I was not a robot LOL. Xx

Oh, Robin, this is exquisite! I absolutely LOVE this lamp post and how you've created such a beautiful wintery scene in the oval "window." It's gorgeous! And the "sky" outside is out of this world beautiful! I've clicked on the closeup several times to see all the beauty! Stunning, precious friend! Big hugs! xoxo
