ODBDSLC273-Recipe

Good morning and welcome to another ODBD challenge!!
The challenge this month is to make a card using the letters O, D, B, D
My card for this challenge uses:
O=Our Daily Bread Designs Paper
D=Dresden Quilt Die, Doily
B=Button, Border cut
D=Die cuts, Double ribbon
ODBD stamps used: Grace's Strength
ODBD paper used: Cozy Quilt Collection

For this card I started with a light sagey green base and then built up adding the peachie layer and white border cut with the Leafy Edged Border.  I then cut a white doily, cut two remaining scallops from the border into corners, cut my quilt from two decorative ODBD papers out of the Cozy Quilt Collection and a dark green quilt (for the outline), (I cut away the frame part of the quilt). I also cut two Filigree Frames, one white and one dark green.  I put my quilt outline down on a piece of scrap so that I had a base to glue my pieces onto. When I was finished piecing my quilt I glued the doily to the bottom to show just a bit and sandwiched my Filigree Frames between quilt and doily.
I love the new sentiments and verses from ODBD Anniversary collections honoring Grace and her fight against cancer so I used one from Grace's Strength on my card today!  I finished by adhering my green base to a white folded card and then making my double ribbon bow topped with a button tied with floss.

This challenge is a recipe challenge.   The recipe is to use 4 items, materials or techniques beginning with each letter in ODBD.
For example:
 O-Our Daily Bread Designs stamps
 D-daisies, dots
 B-bling, buttons, and bow
 D-diamonds, dog, double stitched

Please visit my design team sisters for more inspiration.

Participants have until May 1 to link their creations, HERE.  There will  be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner.

Who have we to trust in but our God?  There is no one else who could speak the universe into existence.  Who but our Lord raised the dead, spoke healing, touched eyes that had never seen, ears that had never heard and made them new again.  Doctors try to help us but they can only do so much.  Only One formed us in our mothers womb, One knows the number of hair we have, One has given us our days before any of them had yet come. ( Psalm 139:13-16)
"For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them".
I'm with Job when he said (Job 13:15)
"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him"
I trust the God who so LOVES me that He sent His only Son to die in my place.

(John 3:16)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

ODBD-Looking Back at March

Good morning!
Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs March Release, here are the cards I created

ODBD stamps: Keys To Happiness
ODBD dies: Double Stitched Squares , Layered Lacey Squares, Squares, Doily, Double Stitched CirclesKeys, Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Flourished Star Pattern
ODBD paper: Christmas Card Collection 2015
Card details:
I stamped and embossed my sentiment with VersaMagic and Detail Gold Powder then Die cut it with the Double Stitched Circles. I die cut all the rest of my layers from White Linen and then framed the white with gold mirror paper.  My card base is folded white linen A-2 size.  I did use a dot and diamond dot embossing folder on some of my layers as well.
The keys were die cut from a paper out of the Christmas Card collection.
Lots of pearls were added and a sheer white ribbon bow to finish it off.

My next card features: New release stamp: Superstar and favorite Shine On.
Card details:
I stamped and embossed the sentiment same as above card, I also stamped and embossed the stars with silver detail powder as well as the gold.
I used the Double Stitched Stars die to mat each star with gold or silver mirror paper (the stitches REALLY show up well on the metallic paper).
After cutting my layers of white and gold for the card I wrapped my Flourished Star Pattern panel with 1 1/2" white satin ribbon and tied a bow with 1" white satin then I started layering all my stars and sentiment layers on top. Card base is the usual (for me) A-2 folded white linen.
I love the verse on this card!  It shows just a tiny bit how great our God is.
Psalm 8:3-4
"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him"
Yet, He calls US all by name too and knows the number of hairs on our heads, for those who know Him, He has written our names on the palms of His hands!
He has created the galaxies and yet He love me and you!

John 3:16New Living Translation  “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."  That my friend is love!

ODBDSLC #235 Inspiration Challenge

Good morning!
Today starts a new challenge at ODBD!! The challenge is to make your card with inspiration from the photo below. Please join us!

ODBD stamps used: God Quotes
ODBD dies used: Doily, Umbrella
ODBD paper used: Shabby Rose
I wanted to make my umbrella like the one in this photo, folded up with lots of goodies hanging out so I used a scoring board and made accordion type folds in my umbrella, tied a ribbon around it and added a bit of lace to the top.  I made this card a twisted easel card. I used the doily die to make my card base and front and the inside part of the doily die with the Shabby Rose collection paper for the decoration on the circles.  On the inside, I used a rose as a stop.
I filled the umbrella with pre-made flowers and some branches from a Spellbinder die.  I made the little nest with fiber on a 1/2" glue dot and added turquoise beads as eggs.  My card front has lace around the edges.  I was thinking of using paper lace but the bottom would not have laid down on the card inside when open.

Please visit my design team sisters to see all the samples for this week's challenge.

Song of Solomon 2:12-14
The flowers appear on the earth; the time for singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. 13, The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vine with the tender grapes give a good smell.  Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away! 14, O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
I know that this is suppose to be Solomon's words to his wife but I think God has them in His word as a love song to us. He sees us as the bride of Christ, lovely and fragrant. He sings to us a love song, wooing us to Him.  He loves to hear us sing to Him, talk to Him and He loves for us to seek His face. He is my friend, my deepest love, my savior and my Lord.
He is creator of all the earth and heavens above and He loves me!

ODBDSLC232-Anything Goes with ODBD Stamps

Good morning!!
Today starts another challenge! This is the last challenge of the month and it is "anything goes"!
ODBD stamps used: The Cross
ODBD dies used: Doily, Ornamental Crosses, Flourished Star Pattern, Elegant Ovals, Vintage Flourish Pattern
ODBD papers used: Shabby Rose Collection
The first layer is the outer die of the Flourish Star Pattern, it has the little stitch piercings on the edges.  I then cut the Vintage Flourish Pattern and trimmed it down to fit inside of the stitches.  I embossed the largest size of the Vintage Flourish cut outs (an oval type shape) inside the solid part of the Vintage Flourish Pattern. I cut the Doily out of the Shabby Rose Collection and popped it up. The cross was cut from the same cardstock as the Vintage Flourish Pattern then backed with white.
The verse was stamped and cut out with the Elegant Ovals and popped up.
I added the pre-made leaves and flowers and made a bow from some dyed ribbon.

Easter is coming up in a few days.  The cross is where He died but the grave could not keep Him.  He had victory over death and the grave.  He rose again from the dead.  He is alive and He lives and reigns with God our Father in heaven.  We can be with Him forever just by accepting Him as our Lord and Savior. John 5:24 Jesus words..."Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life."
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
God gives us the choice, He does not force us to love Him or believe in Him but if we do, He give us grace, mercy and blessings in this life and He gives us life everlasting in the next. You can be clean inside, your sins forgiven, just ask Jesus to forgive you of all your sin and turn away from wrong doing.
Everyone dies and no one knows when...make your choice today. Chose life!

ODBDSLC231-Religious Spring and Easter Inspiration

 Good morning!
Today is the start of our new challenge. See the photo below for the inspiration photo.
This week is Religious Spring and Easter Inspiration.

ODBD paper used: Soulful Stitches Collection
Well, my card this week is a little Easter, a little inspirational and a whole lot spring.
My basket is 3-D and FULL of flowers!! I used a craft stick as a gift card holder (my gift card in this case is a ticket to invite you to God's priceless gift of salvation.). Easter is the time when we celebrate the risen Savior.  I also added a cross "charm" to the basket with the bow. The basket sits on a pretty crochet doily but it is still on an outside table that is why we have our friend, Mr. Hummer visiting! I used the top border to represent a trellis or lattice work.
I used a lot of dimensionals on this card to pop up the basket, some flowers the hummer, and etc. I'm not sure how practical it would be to send in the mail but if you have a church friend or someone you can hand deliver it to, then it would be perfect!

Please visit my design team sisters for more inspiration.

God's priceless gift...do you know what that is?  John 3:16 says that God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
v. 17
For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Saved from what you might say. Well no matter what the "world" tells you, there are consequences for wrong doing (sin). His word says that the wages of wrong doing is death.  But the gift God gives us eternal life (not death) by believing in His only son Jesus Christ and believing He died for us and rose again from the dead and we can live forever with Him in paradise. Romans 6:23.
Please read for yourself and check out what I've told you. You should never except what another says about God without checking His word for yourself.
I hope you have enjoyed this little devotional.  Thank you so much for stopping by!
Robin

ODBDSLC229-Pastel Colors

Good morning everyone!!
ODBD stamps used: The Shepherd
I used blue, pink, lavender and yellow today.
I made my daffodils from purchased paper flower, scrunching the yellow ones to look cone like (as much as possible!)
Each color in the background has a different embossed design. I sewed around the edge of each colored panel as well, I did the Beautiful Border in yellow and then white and added some lace underneath.  Die cut my Doily from white and did a yellow border (which I pierced) around the image panel. I added ribbon and pearls for a finishing touch.

Bless the Lord, O my soul.  O Lord my God You are very great; You are clothed with honor and majesty.  You cover Yourself with light as with a garment; You stretch out the heavens like a curtain.  Psalm 104:1-2
God paints the sky like a canvas with colors of pinks, lavender, yellows, blues and orange creating a masterpiece each night for us to enjoy. Throughout creation is the signature of God! He is so good to us and has created so much.
Have you seen a time-lapse video of flowers blooming, opening, turning toward the sun then closing up at night? Have you seen one of the human body from conception to birth? Do you think the God who created each cell in your body can not also heal those cells?  Do you think He can not care for your needs?  Really, tonight look at the sky, think about the galaxies He has created, the planets, moons, suns, stars all  in complete order in their orbits and in their places.
Think of all the colors, smells, taste in everyday life, in flowers, trees, plants and animals...wow! That is all I can say! He is awesome!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. (direct [yashar]: to be straight, right, upright, pleasing, good.) Proverbs 3:5-6
Have a wonderful week and trust God for your needs!  He is able!

ODBDSLC213-In Stitches

Good morning everyone!!
Our Daily Bread Designs new release is all about stitching and sewing!
Today I have a card with a beautiful Victorian looking dress on a form.
I've used the new Doily die and some of the new paper collection, with lace, ribbon, buttons, pearls and machine sewing as well to create this card!
ODBD stamps used: Elizabeth, Doily Blessings
ODBD paper used: Soulful Stitches Collection
ODBD dies used: Doily
The dress is popped up with real lace (died to match) on top of the lace on paper.  Because my dress and form has a string of pearls on it, I decided to use pearls in my design as well as buttons to go with the paper. First though, I added a pretty zig-zag stitch by machine. Lastly, I also added a ribbon with bow to match the ribbon on the dress.  All the papers in this set are these beautiful green and peachy color which is so pretty...I love them!

This card reminds me of the Proverbs 31 woman.  For those of you who know me in real life or maybe even on FB, you will know that my wonderful husband gives me flowers (or something nice) every time there is a 31st of the month. He told me it is because I am his Proverbs 31st woman.  So sweet!!
So here is how part of it goes if you have never read it:
Proverbs 31:10-31 (just parts...go read it for the full version, you'll love it!)
Who can find a virtuous wife?  For her worth is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.  She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands....She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants.  Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come....Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.  Charm and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised....
I look forward to seeing your creations.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email me.
