ODBDSLC260- Heat & Dry Embossing

Good morning!
Seasons- Our lives have season too!

This week's challenge is to heat emboss and dry emboss.  The easiest way to dry emboss is to use an embossing folder but if you don't have one you can dry emboss in other ways.  You can emboss with a die using the rubber impression pad and embossing plates instead of the die plates in your machine or you can use a method we used to use 10 or 15 years ago with a light source, a stylist and a brass template.  To heat emboss you need embossing fluid or a pigment pad and embossing powder with a heat source like a heat gun or a toaster? (That is what I used at first!!!).
Today I used the heat embossing as a resist technique.  I used the leaves background stamp with VersaMagic then added gold powder and used my Milwaukee heat gun to emboss.  I then rubbed color dye inks onto the cardstock and wiped off the excess from the embossed lines. I used the same embossing powder for my scripture as well.  The dry embossing was done with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
I used my sewing machine to finish the top panel.

Seasons of life.
We all have seasons in our lives, but God has a plan for our lives through all of our seasons.
When we are going through a season of loneliness, depression, or despair God is with us.  He said He will never leave us nor forsake us when our faith is in Him.
When you don't know what to believe because of all that is in the media and social media, read His word to know what God say about everything, to know how you as His follower should believe and respond.  Yes, there is good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark but to KNOW what God thinks, you must read His word.
Make God's word your priority in EVERY season of your life.

ODBDSLC259-Inspiration Challenge

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs.
Below my card is the inspiration photo for this week's challenge.
ODBD stamps used: Silk Stars, Snowflake Stars

I stamped the Snowflake star (two sizes) with VersaMark and embossed with Sparkle Blue then used the Splendorous Star die set to cut them out. I also cut one of the sizes of stars out of white.  I cut the background with the Flourished Star Pattern outer die with pierce marks, cut it at an angle with the Leafy Edged Border and embossed it with an Embossing folder.  I left the bottom part plain so that Leafy border would show up better.  I cut the border in blue as well as white.  The white border and embossing in sponged with blue.  I used some epoxy to glue the blue sequins on the border and squeezed a little Stickles in the center of each.
Next I stamped a sentiment from the Silk Stars stamp set with VersaMark and embossed it with Sparkle Blue then cut it out with a Vintage Label then sponged the edges with blue.   The sentiment as well as the star is popped up.  As a final touch, I added a sparkly blue pearl to the center of the star.

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved".  John 3:17
That is so amazing!  We deserve to be judged but God wants to save us! Why? Because He loves us so much!!  I can trust Him with my life knowing how much He loves me.  I can trust Him with my kids too.  I know He loves them even more than I do!  When this life is done, I know I will be with Him forever!

ODBDSLC256- Create Your Own Inked or Embossed Background

Good morning!
Time for a new fun challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.
Make your own background inked or embossed.
My card is both inked and embossed.

ODBD stamps:God Verses, Blossom
My background is done by using an inked brayer on one side of an embossing folder (LifeStyle-Rose Pattern).  I used vellum to print my God Verse so that the background can still be seen underneath. I cut it with the Stitched Oval die then I made an oval frame to go around it by using Stitched Oval die and the larger regular Oval die.  My top piece is the new release Leafy Edge Border die...pretty huh? It comes with three edges.  The image is the rose bud from the Blossom stamp set.  I stamped, colored and cut out 3 times.  The pink and green leaves were purchased as well as the pink and white braid at the top.  The bow is 1 1/2" sheer pink.

The scripture on my card today is Matthew 6:33.  In it we find that if we spend our time concentrating on the things of God and promoting God's kingdom, we don't have to worry about the common needs of life, God will take care of us as he does the birds and animals and clothe us like the beautiful flowers...He is seeking followers, those who put Him and His purposes about their own agenda.
Study His word and seek Him out, He will be found by you!

September Mid Month Reminder

Good morning!
This is a reminder of all the great stamps and dies released mid month September...enjoy!
New release Pretty Posies die from ODBD were used to make my pine cones on this card.  I cut the medium and small size out of brown twice and sponged on some darker brow ink around the edges then cut them into sections.  I used a forming tool (large stylist) to form the fronts and backs.  Glued the sections together moving downward as I did to create long cones.
Other products used on this card were ODBD paper- Blushing Rose; ODBD Peaceful Poinsettia die; ODBD Fancy Foliage; and ODBD Christmas Mini stamp set.  Miscellaneous products, Spellbinders A2 Basic matting (the frames), ribbon, candy dots (red berries) and Prills (flower centers). See the original pine cone tutorial here.

I used white mulberry paper to cut out 6 of each size for the posies. I dipped the ends in spray ink watered down and let them dry then scrunched them up at the centers and glued them together making 3 sizes of very full flowers.  I added some sheer white ribbon to the bottom of the flowers.  I made my window frame by cutting the same size as my window hole out of black then drawing around the die with pencil and cutting it out.  The border is a little different as I had to cut it from my black layer then cut the shape (die provided in set) from the white window layer, the under embossed layer (embossed with ODBD Boho background die) and then the raspberry and turquoise layers.  The bottom layer is an embossed layer (embossed with an embossing folder).
