DRS Challenge #138 Hot Trends-Sequins and Jewels

Good morning to you all!!
Today I'm sharing my spooky spider card.  I hate spiders, they give me the creeps!!  To me they are the scariest creatures on to sharks!  I was always scared of sharks but when Jaws came out, I was determined NEVER to go in the ocean again!!  Well, spiders are right up there on that list of scariest things!!  I found webs in my DETERGENT box the other day...NOT a good thing!  Is nothing sacred to a spider for crying out loud!  Good grief!
Well, they DO make great Halloween cards, so here we go...

I used black and purple Fun Flock on the spider body and leg parts.  Google eyes were used on the Spider's eyes.  My jewels are purple and lavender rhinestones.   As you can tell, my spider's legs are formed similar to a flower's petals and then I gave it an indented neck which made the back end rise up...I liked the look so I added a 3 layer foam dot under it to make it stay.  The head has one layer of foam.
My background is sprayed with white Memories spray ink to give it more texture and a creepier look! I used a web die from Memory Box and DRS web stamp in silver on top of the spray.  This card was loads of fun to make and has plenty of room for a sentiment because it is an easel card.

To make this easel card you take a piece of cardstock (purple in this case) that is 4 1/4 X 11" and score at the 5 1/2"  mark then again on one side only, at the 2 3/4" mark.  Take another piece of cardstock (in this case black but it could be a decorative piece as well) which is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2" to use as your front.  Decorate the front 4 1/4 X 5 1/2" piece as desired with image, die cuts, stamping, spraying, and etc. then glue the top of your piece to the top 2 3/4" part of your card base.  Now you have the basic easel fold.  Next you need to pop something up on the inside of your card so that your easel stays standing up, in this case, I used the sentiment panel popped up (see bottom photo to see how it rest inside the popped up sentiment).  I also used other papers and die cuts/punches and rhinestones to decorate the inside, (punch is a Martha Stewart "around the page" set).
Hope this gives you some ideas for making your own cards this Halloween!
Have a great day!
