Merry Christmas!

Hello crafty friends, Happy Christmas!

This first card is a Bendi-Frame card.  It's so fun with a bit of depth to boot!
The die cut frame is set in at the sides to make it bow out slightly.

I've used glitter cardstock for the frame. Also there is plenty of glitter in the little village scene.

This next picture shows the bowing of the frame the best.

Santa is a fun story but do you know the real Christmas story?

Luke 2: 1-20
And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
Thanks for visiting today, A Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Heartfelt-Special Couple

Good morning!

I made this card with the beautiful Classic Wedding Collection and did a sort of Bendi with the top.  The Beautiful Decorative Medallion makes a wonderful arch way.  The card itself is flat but the arch is bent like a Bendi-Frame by being about 1/4" longer than the space I have it in (the inside light pink panel).  Only the edges are attached so my Wedding Bells are hanging out from the arch.
I had so much fun making the beautiful roses for this card and creating little buds as well.  Heartfelt's rose die is a pleasure to work with!

I used the beautiful Crystal Clear glitter on my roses, tulle in between and white Prills here and there as "baby's breath".

Instructions: Other Products: Pearls, Pink Tulle, Stickles, White Linen card stock, White smooth card stock

Instructions:
Card size is 6 1/4 X 5 1/4.  Cut pink paper from the Classic Wedding to the card size and glue to cover folded white card.  Stamp, die cut and sponge Classic Rose pieces with Angel Pink Memento, Classic Rose Vines and Classic Wedding Bells with Black Memento  from smooth white and then sponge with color using Bazzinks-light green and Memento- Bamboo Leaves, (the Classic Wedding Bells image is colored with Copic Markers C0,C01,C02,C03,C05,R81,R83,R85,YG63,G21,G82).  Form and fashion roses and leaves using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.   Add glue to tips of roses and dip into Crystal Clear for sparkle. Cut another ivory color print from the designer paper 5 X 6" and stamp "To A Special Couple" from Wedding Wishes on the bottom right and then glue bells toward the top.  Die cut the Decorative Medallion from heavy weight white card stock and glue just the sides to the card edges even with the ivory paper to make it bend (similar to a Bendi Frame card).  Glue pink roses and leaves down onto left side of card.  Add a few leaves and a rose bud to the right side as well.  Add tuffs of pink tulle to rose bouquet and then add a few white Prills (like babies breath) around rose bouquet.  To finish this card, add large pearl halves to the corners and a string of pearl halves along the top of the Medallion arch.

DRS Challenge #236 Color Inspiration

Good morning!
Time for a color challenge...yay!!

I did a Bendi Frame card for this serene beach scene; the base (5 3/8" X 4 1/4") has the lighthouse and boat stamped on it, line drawn for a horizon and shoreline drawn in then boat and lighthouse masked and sky sponged in with clouds (I used a torn paper towel and sponged blue, moved the paper towel up and over and sponged blue again and so on until my sky was done).
I then colored in my water, sand and scene using a bit of white paint to make shine spots on the water.  I used a palette knife and texture paste to make my waves then while the texture paste is still wet I added glitter to it.
I stamped my sentiment on another piece of white, die cut it into a circle and colored it yellow to be a sun in the sky...well, that was my intention.
I added a torn piece of tan paper on the base and added castle, shovels and bucket.
Now for the Bendi Frame part: I die cut the frame from a 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" piece of dark tan shimmer paper by picking a rectangle die the size I wanted my scene to be and then placed it in the center of my panel and there's my frame.  Now I added more torn tan pieces to the back of the frame (creating dimension) and added the chair and palm trees.  I threw the towel in with a tiny piece of stripe paper fringed at the bottom and glued to the arm of my chair. I also added coconuts using a hole punch and brown paper. The birds are glued to the base and one is popped up.
Now you can put your slightly larger frame onto your base.  Put foam tape on the two SIDES of your frame (none on top or bottom); starting with one side at a time, stick your frame to the base by matching up the edges on the sides, this will create your bend because your frame is 1/8" larger than your card base.
This idea came from Kittie Caracciolo at KittieKraft. She does the most wonderful scenes.
The chair, birds, castle and beach toys are dies from I.O. and the palm trees die is from Joy! Crafts.  The frame and circle stitched dies are from ODBD

DRS Challenge #139- Knots

Hello all, for this Thursday's challenge at DRS, I've made another bendi-frame card.  So part of my scene is on the back of the frame and the other part is on the card front.  The challenge is week is to use a knot/knots, so I have made some double knots on my cord and attached it to the bendi-frame.  I was thinking of making a hangman's noose but I can't remember how to do it!
DRS stamps used: 960E Boo-itful Halloween, 191C Small Ghost, 141H Spooky Silhouette, 136F Spooky Tree Limb, 125G The Raven, 517A Accent Bats.
This photo shows the bend of the frame which is easy to achieve and here's how: Your card base will be 1/8" smaller than your frame.  I used nesting rectangle dies from Spellbinders to make my frame.
The web is a punch from Martha Stewart and it is punched out of vellum.  The fence is also a Martha Stewart border punch.  I added gray to it to make shadows (which is actually darker in real life).  The card base is purple and I first stamped the houses in black then re-stamped just the moon on white and cut it out. I cut out the ghostie too and he is attached to the back of the frame.
Before attaching the frame, I also stamped more bats and the sentiment then used Q-tips to make eerie looking mist floating in with white pigment ink.
So now I'm ready to attach the frame (which has the bare branch on one side, the fence and ghost at the bottom, the branch with crow on the right side and the webs at the top), I cut on 4 1/4" piece of foam tap then cut it in half lengthwise and put one half on each side of my frame...DO NOT put any adhesive on top or bottom of your frame. I attached my cord (under the tape) then I line up one side and stick the one side.  Now the other side will be slightly longer than my card so I have to be sure to line up the sides again of my frame and card top.  Now my frame naturally bends outward for a 3-D look.
Well, I hope you will join the challenge...remember, all you need is a card with a knot/knots to join in the fun.  Click HERE to see the other designer's cards and to join the challenge.
Have a very creative weekend!
