Christmas Cardinal Z Fold Card

Good morning!
I have a fun project today that uses Heartfelt Creation's paper
borders as well as the amazing paper panels.
I've also used the Cascading Petals to make some realistic
pine cones.

I painted my cardinals in a male and female version here.

HC PRODUCTS USED

Other Products:
Tea Dye Distress Ink, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Copic Markers: E31, E33, E35, Y11, Y23, R23, R24, R29, YG61, YG63
Instructions:
Card Size: 5 X 6 1/2".  Cut white cardstock 6 1/2 X 10” then score at 2 1/2 and 5”.  Fold in a “Z” style.  Cut red decorative paper to fit each panel leaving a small border around each panel, cut another from the green gingham for each panel a bit smaller than the red.  Glue paper to panels then cut decorative paper borders for each panel top and bottom and glue in place.

Cut 2 red Lacy Diamonds, cut 1 white eyelet diamond to fit inside Lacy Diamond.  Cut 1 decorative paper diamond to fit inside eyelet diamond and glue layers together.  For the inside place the other red Lacy diamond right behind the front Lacy Diamond when card is closed.  Use the Diamond die to cut a sentiment from the decorative paper or cut out sentiment with rectangle die and glue on top of decorative paper diamond.

Stamp 2 medium pinecones, 1 cardinal set and multiple blossoms from Wisteria Petals using black ink, die cut and color images with Copics or chosen coloring method, sponge Wisteria Petals with Distress Inks. Use Dries White and glitter on snowy parts of the Cardinal image.  Glue Cardinals to bottom portion of front Diamond sets.  Glue 1 medium pinecone to the top of Diamonds on front and 1 on the top of Diamonds inside

Stamp Merry Christmas using red and cut out with the long eyelet die in Tickets and Tags (shorted).

Making 3D pinecones:  Hand cut 2 oval type pieces of brown paper about 1 1/2" long to use as a base to glue petals on to.  Cut petals into 2 parts (1 petal and 2 petals). Start at the bottom with 1 petal and then work up getting wider the further up you go then tapering back down to 2 or 3 petals at the top (Fill in where needed with single petals).  Glue the two 3D pinecones to the top of front on either side of the medium pinecone. Glitter pinecones and randomly all over card base.

My next card  uses the kraft and white color combo
that looks great with the cardinals and pine cones.

Other Products:
Ivory Cardstock, white cardstock, Snow Pen, Tea Dye and Broken China Distress Inks, red ribbon, Foam Tape, Copic Markers: E33, E35, E39, YG61, YG63, G99, R43, R24, R29, R59.

For more ideas on creating with the Decorative Royale Square & Circle Dies, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/tqmtn_TiVVw.
Instructions:
Card size: 6 X 6”.  Start with 12 X 6 ivory cardstock, score at 6” then fold.  Cut a kraft Courtyard Elegance using the smaller square die for the outside edge.  Use circle dies to make a center circle out of Courtyard Elegance die cut and a frame out of ivory cardstock for the circle “hole”.  Cut a piece of light green Snowy Pines decorative paper to fit backside of the kraft die cut then cut the same circle from the center (save the circle).  Cut the circle out of the card base front in the center, draw it first to make sure it is in the right spot using the kraft/decorative paper die cut as a guide.   Glue the die cut to the front of card then glue the ivory frame over edge of opening.

Stamp Cardinals, at least 8 small pine cones, 4 each of the 2 pine boughs using black, die cut then color with Copics listed above or similar.  Make a wreath using cut up pine boughs and the pine cones.  Insert ribbon bow towards bottom curling ribbon tails up the wreath, adhering ribbon as you go.  Glitter the entire front of card.  Use dries white or a Snow Pen on the pine cones, glitter then heat to puff or set.

Cut another Courtyard Elegance out of ivory this time.  Glue the light green decorative paper to the center after sponging edges with blue ink.  Glue a piece of light green decorative paper to fit inside of card.  Glue the ivory Courtyard Elegance to the green.  Cut 4 strips of kraft cardstock at 1/4" each X 6”.  Glue them down (bottom and top first then sides) to the outside edges like a log frame.  Add Snow Pen and glitter to the branches of the Cardinals then heat to puff.  Glue and pop the Cardinals to the center, add snowflakes around using Snow Pen, heat to puff. Add glitter to the whole center circle avoiding birds.

Stamp Merry Christmas on ivory using Vermillion.  Die cut with the Banner die (shortening).  Sponge the edges with Tea Dye.  Glue it at an angle to the inside circle toward the top.

Thanks for visiting today!

Instructions:
Card size: 4 3/4 X 6 3/4".  Make a card base using the outer die of the Majestic Swirl Frames Die (see video for help).  Cut the inside decorative die from the same set out of kraft cardstock.  Cut 1 white Ornate Oval (outer die) and 1 oval a bit smaller out of Fun Foam to pop it up.  Glue them to the kraft die cut.  Cut an inside panel to match card shape with outer die out of decorative paper (the brown wood grain paper used for this sample).

Stamp the cabin scene and die cut with all 3 dies that coordinate. Color.  The sky will be cut away.  Cut an oval large enough to fill the sky area and run it through your die cutting machine with a snow embossing folder.  Glue the embossed piece behind wreath and cabin.  Cut another piece of Fun foam to fit wreath and glue it to the back of scene. Glue stack to the Ornate Oval.  Glitter snowy parts of scene and pinecones.

Stamp sentiment using red then die cut with the Arrows and Banners Die Set.  Glue the sentiment to left bottom.  Add glittered pearls to sentiment and to kraft corners.

My next card is festive with red, green and white.
The white looks like pretty lace!

Instructions:
Card size.  6 X 6”.  Start with 6 X 6” folded card base.  Cover with 6 X 6” red decorative paper.  Cut a decorative panel 5 3/4"square.  Cut the large Rounded Window Circle out of white, glue all but the bottom of circle onto the center of the 5 3/4" Decorative panel then die cut a 3 1/2" circle out of the center.  Cut a 5 1/2" square of Fun Foam and cut the same 3 1/2" circle out of the center.  Glue the Fun Foam to the back of the decorative paper/Rounded Window panel and let dry (Put a large acrylic block on top to make sure it dries flat).

Cut another 3 1/2" circle from light green decorative paper then cut the center of it with the inner die of the Rounded Window Frame Die.  Cut a Decorative Pocket Accent, corners, and cut the smaller decorative circle from the Rounded Window Frame Die out of white.  For the smaller decorative circle, cut away the center with a 2 1/4" circle die. Now, Glue the 5 3/4"decorative square with Rounded Window Frame onto red panel (on card base), glue the light green circle with center Rounded Window Frames Die cut from it down into 3 1/2" hole (make sure grid cut is straight), glue the popped smaller decorative circle on top of light green/grid cut out then glue and insert Decorative Pocket Accent die cut under bottom of large Rounded Window circle then glue circle bottom down on top.  Glue corners to top 2 corners of card.

Stamp cardinals using black, die cut and color.  Add Dries White Adhesive and glitter to snowy parts of branches.
Stamp Poinsettias using Vermillion, sponge with Carnation, die cut.  Stamp Holly using Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut then form leaves and flowers in Shaping Mold.  Glue pairs of flowers together then add gold Prills to the centers.  Stamp Merry Christmas onto a strip of light green decorative paper and fish tail end.

Glue Cardinals to the bottom of card over circle and Decorative Pocket Accent.  Curl and glue sentiment across grid.  Add poinsettias and holly around the rest of the circle leaving some part of circle open toward the top.  Glitter flowers with Crystal Clear then randomly glitter card with Ultrafine Crystal Transparent.

Pinecone Easel Card

Good morning!
I love this new large pinecone and ribbon!
It is so much fun to color and then to pop up because
there are individual scales that add so much dimension!

Instructions:
Card size: 4 3/4 X 6 3/4".   Cut 2 pieces of heavy weight white cardstock (Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper is great), one 6 3/4 X 5” and one 7 1/4 X 5” Score the 7 ¼ piece at 1/2" to use as a tab to glue it to the other white piece.  Once glue is completely dry place the outer die of the Decorative Circle Frames onto folded white cardstock and leave the top of die off of the folded edge about 1/4".  After card is cut score one side at the center point again (3 1/4"), this will form the easel.  Use the outer die again to cut the card front on another piece of white cardstock.  Glue the front to the bottom half (when card is closed) of the 3 1/4" part of the easel matching edges.

Cut 2 Decorative Circle Frames out of gold, flue 1 to the card front and 1 inside card (the inside piece will need to be trimmed at the top to fit).   Cut 2 white eyelet circles and then cut 2 circles smaller to fit inside eyelet circles from decorative paper (the inside circle was cut from a panel that has the 2 chickadee type birds in a pine wreath, do the “out of the box” cut to make sure you keep the bird tails intact.   Glue eyelet circle and decorative paper circles to the front and inside of card.

Stamp the large pinecone and 2 medium pinecones using black ink, die cut and color.  Use foam tape on some of the pinecone scales to make the pinecone more dimensional and glue on the other parts then adhere to front of card at the top.  Cut 2 medium pinecones from Fun Foam and glue them to the backs of the 2 colored pinecones.  Stamp Merry Christmas using Red, die cut it and die cut a Merry Christmas from Fun Foam as well, glue them together.  These inside pieces need to be dimensional to act as a “stay” for the front part of the easel.  Glue the Merry Christmas to the inside where you want the card to stay open (check first or it may be too high or too low).  Glue the pinecones under the Merry Christmas.

Stamp the poinsettias with Vermillion, sponge with Carnation and stamp the leaves with Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut then shape in the mold (see video above).  Glue flowers in sets of 2 then fill centers with gold Prills.  Stamp a sentiment on a small tag from the decorative paper using red then die cut.  Add a sheer red bow to the top of tag.  Glue 3 flowers between Merry Christmas and pinecones also inserting tag as desired.  Glue 1 flower on the front toward the bottom left, add another sheer red bow under the flower.  Add holly leaves where desired.

Glitter the flowers with Crystal clear, glitter the edges of card front and inside with Crystal Ultrafine.  Glitter the decorative paper circle on the front randomly.  Use shimmer on leaves by brushing it on.

My next card features the new oval wreath and the cardinals

Don't you just love the little cabin scene inside?

Instructions:
Card size: 6 X 6”. Start with a 6 X 6 folded card base.  Cut 1 gold panel 5 3/4" Square, glue to base then cut decorative paper as follows: Red- 3 X 5 11/16” and 2 green gingham- 1 5/16 X 5 11/16”.  Glue red paper to the center of gold panel then glue green gingham paper to the top and bottom of red (make sure there is a 1/16” border of gold all the way around).

Cut 1 white Petite Pocket Accent, 1 white Decorative Pocket Accent and 1 white Ornate Oval.  Cut 1 gold Petite Pocket Accent (then border), 1 gold Decorative Pocket Accent and 1 gold Ornate Oval.  Glue each pair together.  Cut 1 Fun Foam Oval large enough for the back of the Ornate Oval pair and glue it to the back.  Glue the Petite Pocket accent pair to the top gingham right on the edge of green and red then glue the Decorative Pocket Accent pair to the bottom gingham on the edge of green and red.  Glue the Oval stack to the center of card over both pocket accents (centered).

Stamp Sentiment using red onto a strip of green decorative paper, cut a fish tail at the end, curl sentiment and glue to the card above Petite Pocket Accent at an angle, add 2 gold “nail head” stickers.

Stamp cabin scene twice and cardinals once using black ink.  Die cut and color.  The cabin is die cut leaving just the wreath on 1 and on the other, leaving all but the sky.  The sky is blue paper sponged with white pigment ink then some red dabbed onto the white. Cut it to fit the back of the cabin scene.  On the back of the wreath die cut, add some very thin strips of foam tape to pop it up over the wreath on the other (full) die cut with cabin.  Cut the cardinals apart as needed to add to the wreath on top of the existing birds.

Glitter the cabin scene and wreath (except birds) then glue the cabin scene with popped wreath and cardinals, to the Ornate Oval Pair.  Randomly glitter card.
