ODBDSLC284 Anything Goes With ODBD Reminder

Good morning!
Time for a challenge reminder...have you done a card yet?  There is a prize awaiting!!

ODBD stamps: Tulips
ODBD dies: TulipCircle Scalloped RectanglesHappy Birthday ScriptPierced RectanglesFlower Lattice
ODBD paper: Fun and Fancy Fold-Center Step cardShabby Rose Collection

I stated with the center step card from ODBD and cut panels to cover with decorative paper from ODBD.  I chose a color to coordinate with the colors in the paper and die cut my decorative elements and the script happy birthday.
I stamped and die cut my tulips out of white and colored with Copic Markers to match.  I stamped the image with similar colors so that it would be a "no-line" look when finished.
The only embellishment I have today is the ribbon making my tulips look like a bouquet to give to mom!
Thanks for stopping by today!!  I hope your will visit my design team sisters to get more inspiration.  You can visit them by clicking on their name below.

DRS Challenge #250 What's Behind The Mask?

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge at DRS Designs-Masking.
Use any image, any die cut, any punch..but make sure to use some masking or reverse masking.
I made a mask of the cabin and my front branch and after stamping them, covered them with the mask and stamped the background.  I made a mask for the moon with a circle punch and post-it, I then masked the ground (I kept the other mask on as well) and sponged color in the sky with Distress inks. I removed the moon mask and used the post-it with the moon hole and put it over the moon (so ONLY the moon would show) and sponged a bit of yellow for the moon.
I removed all the mask and stamped my sign in the foreground then colored everything, splattered with white paint and added glitter to the ground and trees.
I die cut Christmas from a medium blue and glued it to the front corner.
That's it!
I hope you will join in the challenge!!

To enter, show us your card  by linking it HERE & please be sure to link back to DRS. The deadline for this challenge is Wednesday, November 2, at 6:30 pm ET and please link new creations only (no back dated or duplicate entries)We are now limiting the number of entries to 3 per personChallenge entries don't have to use DRS Designs stamps, but if you use them on your challenge card, you'll get an extra entry into the prize drawing.

ODBDSLC278-Dots and Dashes!

Good morning!
Time for a new monthly challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs!

The challenge is:
Dots or Dashes.  Use designer paper, embossing, dies, stitching, faux stitching (draw on dashes or stitches), or use piercing.

ODBD stamps: I Love Coffee
ODBD paper: Pastel Paper Pack

My card is full of dots and dashes today...dot paper, dot dies (pierced), dashes dies (stitched), dashes on my straw and my Baker's Twine.
I used the cup sleeve as a cupcake paper and the whipped cream as...whipped cream frosting for the cupcake.  My foamy whip is over-flowing the cap of my coffee drink, yum!
The button holds my card closed.
For a tutorial on this special fold click here.  This fold has a special pocket for a gift card that slides up when you open it.

Psalm 95

Come, let us sing to the Lord!

Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
    and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.
Come, let us worship and bow down.

Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,

    for he is our God.

ODBDSLC 276 Challenge Reminder

Good morning!
We have a reminder post for our monthly challenge today.
"Anything that grows with ODBD"
You must use at least one stamp or die from ODBD, Northcoast Creations or Artistic Outpost to join us.  ODBD has a very vast selection of gardening stamps. We can't wait to see your creations!!
There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.

My card uses the Iris in "A True Friend" stamp set.
ODBD stamps: A True Friend
ODBD paper: Soulful Stitches

I stamped and cut out the iris and cut it away from the stem as well, turned it over and rounded the flower petals with a large stylist ball on a foam mat.  I then added some Flower Soft to the beards of the iris and placed foam tape on the back to attach it later.
I cut my layers with the iris colors (peachy pink and apricot), embossed the oval and popped up some of the layers over my decorative paper from the soulful Stitches paper pack.
I added my formed iris back onto the stem and glued a small bow on the stem to finish it off.
I then added pink and apricot pearls to my creation for some added elegance.
I hope you will join us for this challenge!!!

ODBDSLC276 Anything That Grows

Good morning!!
The challenge is: Anything that grows....with ODBD.  You must use at least one stamp or die from ODBD, Northcoast Creations or Artistic Outpost to join us.  ODBD has a very vast selection of gardening stamps. We can't wait to see your creations!!
Participants have until July 31st to enter the challenge HERE.

ODBD stamps used: A true Friend
ODBD dies: Vintage Borders, Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern, Pierced Rectangles, Fancy Foliage
I started by stamping my iris twice and colored with Copics (following a color pattern of real Iris' found on Google) then I added yellow Flower Soft to the centers.   I cut them out and put foam tape on them then set aside while I built my layers.
I used the dies above and also used the Vintage Flourish Pattern die as an embossing method.
I added some white seam binding between layers and made a small bow with it as well.  After stacking and foam taping all my layers then adding my flowers, I cut some Fancy Foliage flourishes and stuck them in under the flowers. Stamped my words and die cut them with the Vintage Labels (that go perfectly with the new Vintage Borders dies) and stuck it up under the bottom flower, glue on one side and double layer of foam tape on the other.
Copic colors are: RV10, RV02, R20, RV04, Y13, Y15, Y35, Y38, BV20 (for shading the white), G82, YG63.

Psalm 138:8

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lordendures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
I'm sure you have heard it said "God is not finished with me yet"...well that is certainly true.  We don't have to worry that God might leave us half baked, he will work with us till we see Him face to face.  If we think we have already "arrived" spiritually, He has THAT problem to deal with, spiritual pride.  Be humble and let God keep making us more like Jesus every day!  If we want to be like Him, we have to know Him, if we want to know Him, we have to read His word (everyday).  You can not read it once and think you know it, it is living and active, each time you read His word you find another nugget of truth (which then needs to be digested!!) God is a life-time study, our reward will come, we will know all things when we see Him face to face.
1 Corinthians 13:12
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

DRS Challenge #230-Birthdays

Good morning!

Time for birthday cards!
Our challenge this week is to make it a birthday card of some sort.
Mine is for baby's first birthday as you can see.

I used DRS stamps 631P Open Plaid in red and Orange to make my stripes, 688P Polka Dot bg to make the dots, 342P Checkerboard bg to make the flag and 891P Jimbo and the Gang for my circus animals.
I added the grass with a Martha Stewart border punch, a scalloped border, a button with floss and a stick pin for the flag.
This card idea came from Pinterest HERE.
My card is the shape of the tent hinged near the top about 1 1/2" down.
The letters and numbers are dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The 1st is glued onto acetate.
I hope you'll join us this week...who doesn't need more birthday cards???

ODBDSLC252-Anything Goes With Scripture

Good morning!
This week's challenge is an easy one!! Anything goes with Scripture!
ODBD stamps used: Good Man, Flourish Label Borders
ODBD dies used: Flourished Star Pattern, Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern, Boho Background.
I've used a lot of dies on this one but sometimes when I do elegant looking cards, it is needed.  I love how these all work together to create a card I could give to any of my friends for almost any occasion.  This verse is a promise that I hold dear in my heart. God knows us by name!  He loves us and has a plan for us!
The new Boho Background die goes wonderfully with all the other ODBD label dies.    I used one of the Flourish Label Border stamps for added interest on the large ivory die cut panel (it has little dots all the way around it).  To finish my card I used two strips of lace and some gold metallic ribbon.
Thank you all for visiting!!

To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC252 or to join the challenge click here. This challenge is 2 weeks. You have until September 6, 2015, at 8:00 pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a  $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website, or to be spotlighted on the ODBD Blog at our next challenge. The random prize winner will be posted on our next challenge post. Please do not post on Flicker as many of us do not have the ability to comment on your cards nor can we spotlight your cards on the blog.

The verse on this card is special to me.  It is a promise to me from God.  But not just for me, this promise is to all who will allow God to lead their lives.  He has a plan for us but He doesn't force His will on us.  He has given us free will and a lot of people lead their own lives, do their own thing. The thing is, we can only see this moment in time (and the past) but we do not know what will happen in the next moment.  We can make our plans for tomorrow but tomorrow is not guaranteed to us.  Why not let God (who knows every hair on our head, knows all the days accounted for us Psalm 139 & Luke 12:7) lead your life.  Believe me, His plans are good and He loves us with never ending love, He gives good gifts to His children. We walk in the dark, not knowing what will come.  He has the flash light, He shines the light and leads, all we have to do is follow.

House Mouse-Flower Power

Good afternoon dear peeps!
I am entering this House Mouse design in the challenge at HMFMC Here .
This stamp is from Stamendous.  They manufacture the House Mouse designs currently.
I did this card for a sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers a couple days ago and was told about the challenge at the House Mouse Blog by America.  We design together for Our Daily Bread Designs.
I colored my image using Copic Markers and looking at a photo of a real hummingbird for color inspiration. My little mouse is doing his part to help out his friend!

Cheery Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I used Copics on this Northwoods stamp then used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.  The layers below were created by Cheery Lynn Designs dies and Sizzix embossing folder.  The butterfly is also Cheery Lynn.  Added one pearl for the butterfly head.
