Hello Crafty friends!

I love plaid, I also (probably because of my mom) love lavender and green together so, I really love this plaid!

Believe it or not, my mom actually had this color combo for her kitchen at one point.

She loved to decorate, she was very craft oriented and really an artist.

I also remember some other color combos for the kitchen.  I think when she got a new idea it was easiest to paint the kitchen!

CL1313 A Heart For You, DIE1321 A Heart For You, DIE299-ZZ All in One Frame Circles, PP025 Spring Plaids.  I used a Swiss Dot embossing folder for one of the white layer and a Swiss Dot pink ribbon along with some pink enamel Dots for embellishments.  My balloons were colored to try and get a little bit of a transparent look, being able to see faintly the balloon in back of each.

I absolutely LOVE this spring plaid paper, obviously!!

The cone was stamped first then masked.  I stamped the flowers and butterflies next.  The bow I decided to stamp separately so that I could add part of it over the gingham ribbon at the bottom.

The sentiment is popped up over the ribbon.

Team Favorite-Plaid Puppies

Hello friends!

Today is Team Favorite Day and I have to say that 

 plaid has to be my favorite but come on, look at these cute puppies!!

They also have paper-pieced plaid jackets, yup, they are cute!

DRS Challenge #220-Spring Fling

Good morning!

Springtime is here!

DRS stamps: 613P Woven Plaid, 094D Sending You Sunshine, 688P Polka Dot Background,

413H Lovebirds Branch, 733K Birdhouse Tree Branch

Well, it is spring and nothing says spring louder than birds building nest and setting up house keeping at the local birdhouse!! I've used spring colors today to make everything look bright and happy!

My plaid was done with the usual Woven Plaid (cut apart so each piece is separate) in pink, yellow, orange, blue and green.  My dots were done 3 times over using pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped the birdhouse branch first then masked the top leaves so the I could stamp the lovebirds branch without over-lapping lines.

I borrowed this sketch from Splitcoaststampers and added ribbon and a bow.

DRS Challenge #213-All Warm or all Cool

Good morning!

This week the challenge is to use all warm colors or all cool colors.

My card today is all cool colors.

I've used DRS stamps: Woven Plaid 613P  and 1096L Leprechaun Gold Guard. My gold is actually very light yellow green with some silver metallic dots to give it some shimmer so officially I did not go over to the warm side.

Here is the color chart that Julie put up on the DRS Blog site.

I did the A-2 panel with my plaid then cut out a frame for the outside and popped it up. I then cut the inside a bit smaller to show some white and glued it flat to the base.  I colored and cut out my image with a die.  His pants have the same basic plaid colors as the background (I drew the plaid on with pens).  I cut out some shamrocks with a die and tied a nice sheer green bow.

DRS Challenge #154 Winter Wonderland

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Here is my Winter Wonderland card for this week's challenge.

DRS stamps: Christmas Village Church 107D, Christmas Village 4 in 1 accessories 119D, Pine Tree Snow Drift 320H, Christmas Blessings 646D, Woven Plaid 613P. 

My plaid was done with the cut apart plaid stamp which is available on cling foam. I used red, green and pink chalk inks.

My images looks a bit tilted but I think it is just the angle of the photo because it doesn't look that way in real life.  I used some Liquid Pearls and Stickles on the snow.  My ribbon is 1" White Satin.  The Christmas die is from Memory Box and the white dots in the corners are just enamel dots.

DRS Challenge # 149-Color Challenge

Good Thursday morning to you all! This week's challenge is a color challenge.

These are the colors for our color challenge this week.

DRS stamps used: 279L Christmas Pine Oval,  613P Woven Plaid (cut apart).

I also used Spellbinder, Memory Box and Our Daily Bread Designs poinsettia dies. Martha Stewart Branch punch and Memory Box leaf dies.

The plaid was done by using the Woven Plaid stamp (cut into three parts) one part at a time with chalk inks. Warm Red was the large section then Rouge and then Lime Green.  I LOVE the way this Plaid turned out!! It made me want to do a bunch of plaid backgrounds just to have on hand!

I used the same colors for my layers of poinsettia petals and for my layers under the image panel.  The first mat is lime green and is so thin you can barely tell it's there, but it is. then rouge and finally red.

DRS Challenge #140-Color Challenge

Good morning all and welcome to another DRS challenge.

Today's challenge is to use the colors of Fall.

DRS stamps used:  422B Autumn Greetings, 1102G October Pumpkin, P631 Open Plaid, P641 Large Original Plaid

Well, as you can see, I used the two plaid stamps together for making the pretty yellow and orange plaid for my bottom panel.  I then die cut it with a Spellbinders border die.  The sentiment die is from Taylored Expressions.  I love this fall scene with the pumpkin and fall leaves don't you?  It was super fun to color too.  I used yellows and oranges in Copics and a warm gray for the shadow.  There is a light blue in the background as well.  Below you see the color inspiration from Design Seeds...who came up with that great idea anyway???
