ODBD Inspiration

Good morning!

This is my card for this week's Inspiration post.  You can see this card and other designer's cards at the ODBD gallery.

I've used the new Rose die along with Rose Leaves, Lattice Background, Fancy Fan, Lovely Flowers stamp set and older release dies, Vintage Borders and Fancy Foliage.

I stamped the oval frame using Wilted Violet Distress Ink and then stamped Happy Birthday inside and cut it out using the Fancy Fan die (I turned it around and cut both sides to make an oval instead of a fan paddle). I then made layers of the Vintage Border dies using purple and white.
I cut several of each size rose petal from white card stock then sponged color from inside toward the outside leaving the ends the lightest.  I formed them with a large stylist and a foam pad then glued the layers together.  I used Stickles on the outside of each petal.   The leaves were also cut from white and sponged with color.

The other day when I was messing around making backgrounds with some Color Burst I did some of these yellow, orange and Magenta backgrounds for the new To My Friend stamp set with these wonderful dandelions.  I love the way they look like they are floating across a sun bright sky.
I've also used Ornate Borders and Flowers and Pierced Rectangles on this card.

After my background was completely dry I rubbed some magic powder (I actually don't know the name of it) over the surface before stamping with VersaMark and embossing with white embossing powder, to make sure the embossing  powder would not stick to the background.  I also stamped and embossed the sentiment.

ODBD January Release Reminder

Good morning!

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs January Release, here is the project I created using the new Bountiful Basket die, Whimsical Flowers Paper Collection and some other ODBD favorites, Pretty Posies, Fancy Foliage, Asters and Leaves, Bitty Blossoms, Trois Jolies Papillons, Trois Papillons Dies and Butterfly & Bugs stamp set, Butterfly & bugs die. For more inspiration using the January Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I cut the basket from white and cut the insets from the Whimsical Flowers paper and then glued the basket together.  I punched holes for the handles and used brads to attach them so that they are free to move back and forth.
I filled the basket with iridescent cello shreds and then started making my flowers and leaves.  Each flower in the basket has a bit of Stickles on the petals and Prills in the centers.  My butterflies are stuck in with Acetate and I've attached some rhinestone flourishes for trails.  I used florist sticks cut in half to stick my flowers in the cello.

I also made a card using the Z Fold from ODBD.  I stamped A Happy Hello flowers all over 3 panels of glossy card stock using VersaMark and then used clear powder to heat emboss to create a resist.  I then sponged Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violets Distress Ink onto the panels.

I Used the Leafy Edged Border die to cut the 2 panels that fold out and then cut my resist panels to match.  I also cut the decorative Leafy Border from white to match the curves.

I used the Vintage Labels to cut out the sentiment after I had stamped the same flower design on it with purple and then the sentiment in black. The small God Bless was cut with the Vintage Labels as well.

I added a pocket inside gluing just the bottom and the straight side of the Decorative Corner die cut.  You could put a note or a gift card, whatever you'd like in the pocket.
That's it, done!

DRS Challenge #177 Hot Trends-Over The Top

Good morning and welcome to a new challenge at DRS.
Today's challenge is to put your sentiment ove or partly over your image.
Well, My image is of butterflies and as you can see the sentiment in on top of them.
My background pink and purple was done with the crinkled wax paper technique.  You ball up the wax paper tightly in your hand then flatten it out and iron it onto some cardstock.  Then ink it with a brayer or sponges.  The wax acts like a resist but only where the wrinkles were.
I used a Spellbinder Bracket Border die on the image layer and on the pink layer then mounted to a white card.  I used nesting Die-Namic stitched square dies for the sentiment and mat and my bow is 1" satin ribbon.  The stamp was white heat embossed onto my background paper.

DRS Designs Challenge #174-Birds and Bees

Good morning!
The new challenge this week is anything bird and/or bees!
DRS Design stamps used: 1020A Bitsy Bumble Bee, 1143L Beehive, 1147B Bee Trail, 544F Bee Cause You're Special, 561C Happy Bee, 019C Honeycomb Design.
The top panel is stamped with VersaMark on white and embossed with white then sponged with Distress inks.  The bottom panel was embossed with an embossing folder in a honeycomb design. I then mounted the two panels on a dark honey color and stitched around the outside with a zig zag stitch.  The beehive and Bitsy bee (plus a reverse image of Bitsy Bee.  I stamped the Bitsy bee on the back of a clear stamp then stamped it onto the stock.  Easy!) I then die cut with a DiNamic nesting die leaving the branch out of course, "Out of the box" style. I die cut a dark honey square to mat. I stamped and cut out the Happy Bee and the sentiment (as if it is a bee trail). The wings are glittered, of course, all bug wings are glittered...right?

How can you RESIST

I'm the challenge hostess at Splitcoaststampers today for the Hope you can cling to card drive.  Our techniques for today's challenge is Resist...any kind of resist!
We are resisting cancer, Being Resilient, Shining through, and Coming out on top!
Come join in on the fun and the awesome privilege of doing something GOOD with all your "stuff".  Join us HERE.
I did the stamp and emboss resist on the background and the white crayon resist on the die cut for this card. Stamp is Art Impressions, die is Memory Box and Sentiment is Power Poppies digital.

I did the classic stamp and emboss for this card.  Both the background and the main images. Stamps by Our Daily Bread Designs. Circle die is Little B.

For this card, I did the rub technique.  Take an embossing folder, place your paper on the raised side and rub all over with a white crayon.  Then ink with dye inks and sprays. Folder by Darcies, Die is Elizabeth Craft Designs and Spellbinders.  Stamp is Magnolia.
