Theme Day- Happy Halloween

Hello crafty friends!

How about one more Halloween card?
I used some previously made background panels that I have in my stash. One was made on black glossy paper using Lumiere paint with plastic wrap, and the other was an ink-sprayed panel.  I like to spend a couple hours in my craft room just playing with ink sprays and paper.  That's handy for making a card that would normally take much more time because of spraying and drying.  The plastic wrap technique takes much more time to dry so having those backgrounds on hand is fantastic as well.

I fussy cut the ghost and the Happy Halloween from the stamp set.

My first card is a slimline design.  I made another one using the same stamps, seen below, as an A2 size.  The skeletons are embossed with white powder.

Sponged a little white for a bit of mist in the graveyard.

My second card
I used vellum to stamp and emboss the ghost in white.

My third card today
They are doing the graveyard boogie!

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will visit my fellow design team members for more inspiration and come back tomorrow, I will be showing off my monsters!!!
So cute!

My first card features this cute spider and I don't like spiders!
There is something endearing about this one!!

He has google-eyes.  I stamped him once with white and embossed then stamped him again
on white, colored then fussy cut and glued to the white image.

My second card features these cute bats!
Who doesn't like bats? Especially Halloween cuties!!

The image was stamped onto the ink-sprayed background and then stamped again and
fussy cut.

Today I have a 3rd card that features the cute ghost in a graveyard setting!
The foreground was lightly sponged with white to give it a misty look.

Here is my first card for day one
I love this cute ghost!

I popped up the ghost and lantern to the same level as the popped-up frame.

My second card features this cute scaredy cat!

I sprayed a background for both cards, let them dry then stamped directly onto the background for both cards. I then stamped them again on plain white, colored them then fussy-cut, and glued the images onto the stamped image on the background, this is extremely handy for showing fine lines that cannot be fussy-cut.

Thanks for visiting today!

DRS Challenge#193-Flying High

Good morning!
Today starts a new challenge at DRS Designs!  Make a card featuring something that flies.  Since we are in Halloween mode, I did flying things having to so with Halloween but you could use, butterflies, birds, rockets...anything that flies.
I have three flying things on my card: The ghost, the raven and the bat!

DRS Designs: Boo-tiful Halloween 960E, Small Bat and Moon 898C, Small Ghost 191C, Silhouette Graveyard 579H, RIP Tombstone 570B, The Raven 125G.
I stamped my scene and then masked the pieces and sponged some color on with dye inks.  My tombstone in front was colored and cut out since I wanted to place it after I got my frame made and everything arranged. The frame is cut from paper I had used Color Burst on for various colors of purple.  I don't do a lot of Halloween but I love Halloween colors especially now that it isn't just orange and black, (My high school colors if you can imagine)!!
I hope you will join in the challenge this week and be eligable to win a prize.  See the other designer's cards and how to enter your card HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!

DRS Challenge #139- Knots

Hello all, for this Thursday's challenge at DRS, I've made another bendi-frame card.  So part of my scene is on the back of the frame and the other part is on the card front.  The challenge is week is to use a knot/knots, so I have made some double knots on my cord and attached it to the bendi-frame.  I was thinking of making a hangman's noose but I can't remember how to do it!
DRS stamps used: 960E Boo-itful Halloween, 191C Small Ghost, 141H Spooky Silhouette, 136F Spooky Tree Limb, 125G The Raven, 517A Accent Bats.
This photo shows the bend of the frame which is easy to achieve and here's how: Your card base will be 1/8" smaller than your frame.  I used nesting rectangle dies from Spellbinders to make my frame.
The web is a punch from Martha Stewart and it is punched out of vellum.  The fence is also a Martha Stewart border punch.  I added gray to it to make shadows (which is actually darker in real life).  The card base is purple and I first stamped the houses in black then re-stamped just the moon on white and cut it out. I cut out the ghostie too and he is attached to the back of the frame.
Before attaching the frame, I also stamped more bats and the sentiment then used Q-tips to make eerie looking mist floating in with white pigment ink.
So now I'm ready to attach the frame (which has the bare branch on one side, the fence and ghost at the bottom, the branch with crow on the right side and the webs at the top), I cut on 4 1/4" piece of foam tap then cut it in half lengthwise and put one half on each side of my frame...DO NOT put any adhesive on top or bottom of your frame. I attached my cord (under the tape) then I line up one side and stick the one side.  Now the other side will be slightly longer than my card so I have to be sure to line up the sides again of my frame and card top.  Now my frame naturally bends outward for a 3-D look.
Well, I hope you will join the challenge...remember, all you need is a card with a knot/knots to join in the fun.  Click HERE to see the other designer's cards and to join the challenge.
Have a very creative weekend!

DRS challenge #137-It Gives Me The Creeps

The challenge this week is "It gives me the creeps"  Something spooky.
Of course, my card is not really spooky but more like fun, especially the sentiment!
DRS stamps used:  057E Ghouls just want to have fun greeting, 191C Sm. ghost, 810D add a fence, 688P Polka Dot background, 141H Silhouette spooky village (new release)
I used the dots background stamp for the grass, just to add some fun then sponged with green.  My spooky haunted houses were stamped and then masked while I sponged the sky in sunset colors. I took the mask off and colored the windows with a yellow glow, the moon as well.  The houses have a kind of misty look about them. I stamped the ghosty ghouls separately then colored and cut out.  I like the fence as a foreground because it looks a little rickety.
My sentiment  has google eyes attached and the panel is layered over "Boo" ribbon.
