Elizabeth Craft Designs-Fancy Gate Fold
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Tomorrow is the day, what are you thankful for? I can tell you that I am thankful just to wake up in the morning after a year of health problems. I'm thankful for a husband who has been an angel to me and so much more, hey I love food...how about you?
Anyway, I hope you are able to celebrate with loved ones tomorrow and to give some thought as to what you are thankful for. Even if you don't celebrate, thank God for the breath of life.
Today I am sharing a shaped gatefold card with an easel back piece to keep it standing.

For My Friend Gatefold
Good morning crafty friends!
Card
size: 4 3/4” X 6 3/4"
Start with white cardstock measuring 6
3/4" X 8 1/4", score at 1 3/4" and again at 6 1/2". Fold both scores in toward center to make a
gatefold. Cut lavender decorative paper
with roses 5 1/8” X 6 1/2" then die cut it with the gatefold Classic
Companion die (make sure die is centered on paper). You will now have the front 2 “gate”
pieces. Cut another piece of lavender
decorative paper with roses for the inside of card measuring 4 5/8” X 6
1/2". Glue the inside panel on,
centering then glue the 2 outside gate panels on making sure they meet in the center
of card, (this should give about 1/8” border of white).
Stamp Rose Frame and Rose Border X 2 using
black ink then color (Copic Markers used here). Glue the frame inside of card
and the 2 borders on each gate flap about 1/2” up from the bottom of decorative
paper. Add white acrylic paint dots
(like Baby’s Breath) around borders and inside on and extending from stamped Baby’s
Breath.
Stamp Classic Roses on Deluxe Flower
Shaping Paper using Deep Purple then sponge with Majestic Violet (2 largest
roses not used on this card). Stamp the leaves on the same paper using Fern
Green then sponge with Leaf Green. Die
cut all and shape in the 3D Mold. Finish
shaping roses and rose buds using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Use hot glue to put them together (except buds
as they are very small, and this would likely burn your fingers). Punch very
small green flowers with a pointy type flower punch to make the bud sepals then
glue them onto the bottoms of the buds.
Glue the leaves and flowers onto each side
of the gate at the top. Glitter flowers
if desired and card if desired.
Make a Bellyband: Cut white cardstock 1
1/4" X 11” then score at 3 3/8" and 8 3/8" leaving about 4 7/8”
open in the center for width of card plus a bit of wiggle room. Cut a piece of
lavender decorative paper 1” X 11” then glue onto white after scoring the same
as the white cardstock. Glue the band
together making sure card will easily fit inside. The seam line is the top, cover the seam line
with a rose, leaves and a tag with ribbon.
Stamp the tag (before gluing to band) with desired sentiment using Deep
Purple.

Gatefold Dragonfly-Amazing Day
Good morning Heartfelt friends!
Materials list HERE
Card size: 6” X 6”.
Make a card base with white 12 X 6”
cardstock. Score at 3” and 9” then use a
bone folder to get a nice fold. Cut
purple and turquoise blended decorative paper as follows: Two-6 X 3” (for the
front), two-5 3/4"X 2 3/4" for the inside, one-5 3/4"X 5
3/4" purple gingham and one-5 X 5” square for the inside center. Glue all panels onto card base, the inside
has a slight white border around each decorative layer.
Finish the inside of card by cutting a 3”
gingham circle for the center, stamp Amazing Day using Deep Purple on white
then cut with a 2 3/8” circle. Also
stamp, die cut and color the smallest dragonfly to embellish sentiment. Randomly glitter the inside of card and
dragonfly.
For the outside “gate”: Cut decorative gate
with the French Gate die twice from silver (there are 2 different outer dies so
be sure to use the same size for both halves of front). Also cut from silver a circle 2 1/2" and
a circle 2 3/8” from gingham. Glue the
two gate fronts onto card, glue the 2 circles together but do not glue to card,
pop it up attaching to left side only.
Stamp a small size dragonfly, once on white
cardstock and once on vellum. Color the dragonflies
with the Zig markers (vellum from underneath).
Glue together then glue onto center outside circle (leave wings free).
Stamp Magnolias using Cactus Flower, Deep
Purple and Paradise Teal, die cut, sponge edges then shape in the mold (see
video). Stamp Wild Rose flowers with the
same colors following the same instructions for Magnolias. Stamp the leaves using Garden Patina and Leaf
Green, die cut, sponge with like colors then shape in the Leafy Accents mold.
Use 2 blossoms for each flower, finish
shaping (centers mostly) with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, glue flowers
together with hot glue, pierce centers of Magnolias and insert stamen. Add glue to the centers of Wild Roses and
sprinkle with Prills to fill centers.
Cut leaves apart in 1’s, 2’s and 3 leaf sections.
Close the front and use something to weight
it down to stay closed while arranging flowers and leaves. You want some to over-hang right side of
circle just a bit so that it keeps the card closed. Be careful not to overhang too much making it
hard to open and close. (Each time you close the card just untuck those flower
petals so that they are on top of the circle).

Grateful for You Butterflies
Find the material list HERE
Card size: 4 3/4" X 6 5/8”
Start with 1 piece of white cardstock that
is 5 1/2” X 6 5/8”, score at 3/8” on both long sides for tabs to glue to 2 pieces
of white cardstock that are 1 1/2" X 6 5/8” Glue the 1 1/2" pieces to
the tabs, card base is done.
You need two 1/2" by 6 5/8” plus one 4
3/8” X 6 3/8” pieces of white cardstock to spray Oxide inks on, whichever your
preferred colors are (a mixed media type cardstock works best). When completely dry glue the 1/2" pieces
to the 2 sides and glue the larger piece inside of card.
Use gold cardstock to cut the front
(gatefold) die cuts using the new Classic Companion Border Die (cuts both sides
at once). Also cut 2 decorative
butterflies, one 2 1/2" circle and one 7/8” X 5” piece out of gold. From white cardstock cut 2 butterfly
decorative die cuts, one 2 3/8” circle and 1 banner shortened to 4 3/8” long.
Use Majestic Violet to stamp both
sentiments, 1 on the banner and 1 on the white circle. Glue banner onto the 5” gold strip then trim
ends of gold to match banner. Glue white
circle to gold circle then glue the circles to the center of inside.
Stamp VersaMark on white 2 times and on
gold 2 times. Use gold embossing powder
for the gold stamped butterflies and use white embossing powder for the 2
white. Heat emboss then die cut all 4
butterfly bases. Glue white filigree
butterflies to gold stamped bases and gold filigree die cuts to white stamped
bases. Glue the 2 gold base butterflies
inside with circle sentiment.
Glue the 2 gatefold gold to the 1/2” front
sides of card base. The 2 gold fronts
should meet in the middle just perfectly.
Use foam tape or other dimensional adhesive to adhere left half of
banner sentiment to left side of card at a slight angle. Adhere both white base butterflies using foam
tape under their bodies on the top left and bottom right side of card front.
Thanks so much for visiting today!

For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE Card size: 5 1/8 X 7”. Using the 5 X 7 Gateway Fold card Base, center the Elegant Swirl Gateway Die over base while closed. Cut half way down (it will not cut all the way through but do it anyway). Turn card around and cut up about 1 1/2" (this will leave a about a 1 1/2” fold on both sides). Unfold card and finish cutting through each 1/3 placing the die on the indented cut areas. Cut the outside edge only on the first and third panel (make sure to leave the folds, do not cut all the way across). I used my Big Shot Plus for these cuts. Cut decorative paper with the outer die again for all 3 panels. Cut 2 of these in half, score and fold the 1st and 3rd panel to form a gatefold card. The two decorative paper panels cut in half will go on these 2 panels. Avoid the score/fold line when gluing paper. Use the second and third dies to cut 3 white decorative aches. Cut 2 arches in half, glue the full arch in the center, glue the two arches cut in half on the sides avoiding score/fold. Stamp the cottage and all the winter pieces cutting the birds 3 times and the berries several times using black, cut the Tulip fence using black. Die cut and color. Stamp leaves using Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, stamp smallest blossoms using Vermillion sponge with Carnation Red. Die cut and form in the mold. Fill centers with white Prills. Stamp sentiment with Vermillion then die cut with the long die of Arrows and Banner Die (shorten as necessary). Glue some white paper at the bottom of center panel (about 1 1/4") glue the cottage at the top of “yard” snow white paper. Glue snowy bushes around house. Use Dries White Adhesive and glitter for the yard and bushes. Use Stickles painted on with a brush over the snowy roof. Glue sentiment about 1/4" above cottage roof. Glue berries and birds at the top of the arch. Cut fence in half then glue a half to each folded front. Glue berries all the way around arch and more at each corner. Glue some leaves over bottom of berries at the corners. Glue tiny blossoms around the arch and add tiny leaves as desired. Cut gift off of snowman’s branch hand then glue a pair of birds onto his arm instead, re-enforce birds as they extend over the center. Pop up snowman, pop up a bird on each fence post. Randomly glitter card. Use a palette knife to apply texture paste on both sides of the front under fence, glitter the paste before it dries. Thanks for visiting! Robin

Job 37:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
He does great things which we cannot comprehend.
6 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;
Likewise to the [a]gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.
