The Carnation
"Derived from from the Latin "carnis" (flesh) referring to the flower's original pinkish-hued color or "incarnacyon" (incarnation), referring to the incarnation of God-made flesh" with the birth of the baby Lord Jesus.
There are many colors but the "pink carnations carry the greatest significance, beginning with the belief that they first appeared on earth from the Virgin Mary's tears – making them the symbol of a mother's undying love". https://www.teleflora.com/meaning-of-flowers/carnation
Luke 2:11-12 (NLT)
11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and remember the reason we celebrate Christmas!!
