Cut 3 panels from decorative paper using the outer die of the Elegant Swirl Gateway Die. Glue the paper to each of the 3 card panels.  Die cut the full decorative die from white for the center panel.  Die cut the decorative frame only (center cut out) for the first panel and cut out the decorative frame, center in, for the 3rd panel.  Stamp on the solid center of the 3rd panel using Magenta Hue ink, the large sentiment with the floral top.  Glue each of the decorative dies to the corresponding panel and glitter each.  Stamp flowers using Magenta Hue, die cut, sponge Magenta Hue on the edges, form in shaping mold (see video) then glue 2 layers together for the small flowers and 3 layers for the bigger flowers.  Insert green stamen.  Stamp leaves using Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut then form in  the shaping mold.  Stamp small butterflies from the Dahlia flowers as accents for each panel using Magenta Hue.  Glitter the flowers with Rajni’s Crystal Clear. Arrange some of the flowers and leaves on the first panel at the lower left corner/side.  Arrange about 5 flowers and leaves at the top of center panel and arrange the rest of the flowers on the right bottom corner of the 3rd panel. Paint leaves with a combination of lacquer and shimmer additive.  Glue tiny butterflies 2 for each panel.  Stamp You’re An Amazing Friend on white using Magenta Hue and die cut with long straight die then fishtail the ends, curl and tuck into flowers on the first panel. Card size: 5 X 7”.  Cut 1 panel off of the Gateway Fold Card Base.  Use the outer die of the Lattice Swirl to cut shaped card leaving the left side of the die over-hanging about 1/4" to keep part of the fold (see video, Decorative Frame Dies above).   Cut another front piece out of white and purple decorative paper using the outer die of the Lattice Swirl as before.  Glue these to the card base.  Cut the decorative part of the Lattice Swirl twice, once out of white and once out of silver.  Layer them together slightly off-set and glue together.  Stamp “Thing of You” using purple on white cardstock then die cut with a circle die 3 1/2”.  Glue the circle to the under side of the layered decorative Lattice die cuts then glue to the purple card base.  Stamp Oakberry Lane Blossoms using Deep Purple, die cut, shape in mold (see video).  Insert white and green stamen.  Stamp leaves using Silver ink, die cut, shape then squeeze out a small amount of Silver Liquid Pearls, use your finger to spread it over the edges of the leaves for a more metallic silver look.  Arrange flowers and leaves at bottom right side of card and 1 flower at the top center with 2 leaves.  Use Rajni’s Crystal Clear on the flowers and just a tiny bit of Crystal Ultrafine on the card.  Try to avoid the silver paper as much as possible. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: 29 “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; 30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation 31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, 32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.” 34 Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against 35 (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” To be sure, Christ was not born just to be a cute little baby but was actually born for the eventual death on the cross for our salvation.  Once for all of man kind who will believe on Him and call upon His name.

HC Dahlia Birthday

My first card features the new beautiful Dahlia!! IN my favorite colors too!

I love purple and green together (I love purple and ANYTHING together!)

For the Dahlias today I've used the technique Emma Lou shows in her flower making classes where she pinches the tips together.

Stamp the large and small Dahlia and leaves on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper, Dahlia petals using Deep Purple (2 large, 4 small) and leaves (2 large, 2 small) using Leaf Green, die cut.  Sponge the petals with a combination of Majestic Violet and Cactus flower then sponge the edges using Deep purple again. Sponge the leaves using Vivid Chartreuse.  Shape the flowers and leaves in the shaping mold (see video) then for the petals, squeeze tips to a point.  Glue 2 large petals together then 2 of the small petals to the large, turn the other 2 small petals around and shape them inwards to form a sort of inside ball, stamped side out, then glue it to the center of the flower. Stamp the Dahlia flower/stem image 2 times using London Fog Memento and color with Copic Markers, cut the center from 1 dahlia to make the other Dahlia more dimensional by popping petals up.  Stamp the Cherry Blossoms using Vivid Chartreuse (2 for each flower).  Cut 3 white Swirly Border Accents.  Stamp sentiments on decorative paper, die cut with small tag and with the inner large tag.  Die cut the outer large tag from white.  Glue all tags together and add 2 little butterflies around the sentiments.  The butterflies have rhinestones for heads.  Add 2 small purple pearls to the large tag bottom corners.  Glue flower and leaves to the card at the left top corner, insert some cut up pieces from 1 of the Swirly Border Accents into flower.  Glue other Swirly Borders to top and left side stemming from the flower.  Glue tag over the top Swirly Border and tuck a ribbon between tag top and flower.  Tuck the floral image and small Chery Blossom flowers going over the left side Swirly Border, insert some Rose Hip Purple Stamen as well.  Glue a small butterfly to 1 of the Rose Hip Stamen.  Add a purple pearl to each card corner showing.  Glitter the card and flower. My next card uses the beautiful Lush Lilac collection! Don't you just LOVE this collection?  I do, but of course it may be partly because purples are one of my FAVORITE colors!!

This is a shaped card which is something I love to do now with all the gorgeous card sized dies!

Card size: 4 3/4 X 6 1/2".  Make a shaped card with the Decorative Circles Frames outer die but let the bottom hand over about 1/4" as well as the top hanging over the folded edge about 3/4".  This will help the card stand up straight.  Cut an extra outer die from white and from decorative paper (the white cardstock just helps to strengthen and stabilize the decorative paper that hangs over the folded card base).  See video above for making shaped cards. Glue the cardstock and paper together over card base and cut off the bottom to match the base bottom. Die cut the large decorative from white and glue it to the card.  Die cut 3 eyelet circles progressively small.  Cut foam circles to match the size of the Eyelet Circles.  Die cut 1 large red/violet circle just a bit smaller than the first eyelet circle then glue it to the white eyelet, glue a foam circle under it then glue it to the center of the decorative white die cut. Glue another foam circle to the back of the next size eyelet circle then glue it to the circle stack.  Glue the last foam circle to the back of the last eyelet circle and glue it to the circles.  Die cut a circle a bit smaller than the last eyelet circle out of decorative paper then glue it to the center. Stamp Lilac petals with Deep Purple, Majestic Violet and Cactus Flower, sponge, die cut and shape in the mold.  Stamp the leaves with Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut and shape in the mold.  Stamp the umbrella and Lilac spray pieces using black, die cut then color.  Cut out 1 of the paper sentiments from the paper and fish tail cut the ends. Add Prills to the center of flowers and glitter them.  Add shimmer to lacquer and paint the leaves with it.  Glitter the little butterfly and the umbrella.  Add Prills to any flowers showing on the decorative paper. Now decorate the circle with the umbrella, sprays and flowers.  Add the sentiment then add the butterfly to the top of the sentiment. Randomly glitter the card. Finally, my last card features the Lush Lilac collection as well.  This time just a regular 6 X 6" card.

Card size: 6 X 6”.  Start with a folded 6 X 6” white card.  Cut 1 purple decorative paper square 5 7/8” and cut 1 card panel with lilacs all the way around it to 5 5/8” square.  Use the 3 1/2" square from Cut Mat Create to cut the scene with the house on it and also a piece of foam sheet.  Cut another purple panel to 4” square and cut 1 white Butterfly Kisses square. Glue the purple to the card base then the lilac border panel.  Glue the 4” purple paper to the center then the Butterfly Kisses Square.  Next glue the foam to the back of the little house square and glue it to the center over the white die cut. Stamp the scroll and lilac sprays using black, die cut and color.  Stamp the Lilac petals with Deep Purple, Majestic Violet and Cactus Flower, sponge, die cut and shape in the mold.  Stamp leaves using Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut then shape in the mold.  Arrange Scroll and sprays around house then glue the lilac flowers and leaves on stamped flowers.  Glitter flowers and card. HC Dahlia Debut

Time for a new flower collection.

For more tips on creating with the flower shaping molds, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/FSdPL7nXvQE.  Card size: 6 X 6”.  Start with white cardstock 12 X 6, score and fold in half to make 6 X 6 card.  Score the left side again at 3” then fold back to make a Z fold card.  Cut a decorative paper panel to fit each card panel (2 7/8” X 5 7/8”, 2 7/8 X 5 7/8”, and 5 7/8 X 5 7/8”).  Glue the decorative paper to each panel. Cut a 4” square from white cardstock and from decorative paper, glue them together and round the corners.  Cut a square decorative die cut using Butterfly Kisses out of white then glue it to the 4” square. Cut 6 corner die cuts using Elegant Pocket Accents Die set, glue 1 to each corner of the square inside and the other 2 on the 2 corners on the left of the 3” top. Cut 1 Majestic Swirl Frame and cut off all  but 1 long side.  Glue it to the fold line of the top (split the die cut if needed to fit both corners, it won’t show because the 4” square goes over the center.  The square is now adhered to the top only by adhering dimension pop ups or tape to the left 2” of the 4” square.  Square should be centered horizontally and vertically. Stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment onto white using Magenta Hue then die cut outer side only.  Glue it to the center of the inside panel.  Glue pearls to each corner piece.  Stamp both sizes (2 large, 3 smaller) of the Dahlia using Magenta Hue, die cut then sponge the petal edges.  See video for flower shaping, use the Dahlia mold.   Insert stamen in the center.  Stamp leaves using Leaf Green, sponge with Vivid Chartreuse, die cut then form in the mold.  Brush leaves with a combination of lacquer and shimmer additive.  Sponge glue onto flower petals and sprinkle with Rajni’s Crystal Clear. Cut a pair of Swirly Border Accents out of white.  Arrange flower, Swirly Borders and leaves on to the 4” square left side.  Finish the card by stamping on white using Magenta Hue the sentiment “Hope your day is amazing!”, cut it out with the smallest possible oval then pop it up on the right top corner of the 4” square.  Add pearls and glitter as desired.
