Cheery Lynn Challenge 82-Roses
I used Cheery Lynn Designs Corner dies, Lattice die, Decorative oval die, Decorative circle die and Decorative swirl-leaf die. Flower die set is from Heartfelt Creations, plain oval and circle from Spellbinders.
The stamp is from Paper Parachute and the embossing folder is Sizzix (on plain oval). I colored the image with Copic Markers and added some blue chalk to the background.
It's really fun trying different combinations when using these dies from Cheery Lynn, I love florals and lace so what better than to combine all my favorites together on one card!

TOMBOW COLOR CHALLENGE
The colors in this challenge reminded me of stormy seas so I picked this stamp(old PSX Stamp).
I added the rope (cord) to amplify the nautical look! Used a white Painty Pen to add white caps to the sea. I wanted the sky to look more menacing so I added some of the khaki color to it! The die cut was made with a die from Heartfelt Creations. I used Tombow adhesive (tape runner) and foam tabs to pop up the teal oval and the first teal/turquoise square panel. Also added some Ivy green to edges of base card and to die cut to distress a bit.

Challenge 81 Make it Manly
I used a Cheery Lynn Die for the frame, Copper, then used 3D paint and sponged it to distress. Turquoise paper under frame was sprayed with various colors of web spray. The car was colored with Copic Markers and mounted on turquoise. I embossed the next layer with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, painted it bronze then put patina color paint on it. The gears are out of brown shimmer. I added some screw brads on each corner and wrapped it with brown and rust fibers. The card base is white with sponged "Tea Stain" distress ink.

Window dies
Just posting something while I work on my next project. This is a card I made for a class in December. We did 3 window cards, all different windows. One had a window box with flowers and the other was a stained glass window (using alcohol Inks on glossy card stock) with a beautiful charcoal "lead" lines on top (part of the die). This card uses a Martha Stewart punch for the leaves, and Spellbinder dies for the Poinsettia. The window dies are from Poppystamps, it is the French door set.

Hero Arts
Melissa and I had a great time at the Hero Arts factory! We got a tour of the factory and had classes all day!!
What a day, it was really fun but the traffic on the way home!?!!... OMGosh! Thankfully Melissa was driving because it would have caused me heart failure I think! My hat is off to you who have to drive in that every day for work!
We did take a break from driving to visit Ikea. I have never seen one before, now I just want to gut my house and start over with all their wonderful storage!!
Oh and of course, we stopped in Tracy for In-n-Out burgers!! Yummy!! We don't have those in Oakhurst. We waved at Angelica Turner from Heartfelt as we left Tracy!

Canadian Scrapbooker layout challenge
Made these pages with the new BoBunny patriotic line. It definitely made me think of our road trips and the song, "America The Beautiful" ..."Oh beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountains majesties above the fruited plain!...and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!"
I just love it! I will be doing a scrapbook class in June using this paper. The layout is different though. Come see it at the Cat's Meow!
I also used Heartfelt creations corner die, EK Success border punch, and Sizzix nesting star die set.

A couple of Asian cards done awhile ago, both for a card sketch challenge. I actually have 2 large drawers full of Asian stamps because I just really love the look. My mother loved Asian art and had it on her living-room walls when I was growing up so maybe that's why I like it?? Who knows! I have often made Asian type Trading Cards for the Great Yosemite Stamp Escape and once I decorated a lunch box Asian (Published in the Stamper's Sampler O/N 2006), and sewed together some french-fry bags to make an Asian book with tags for the pockets...(also published by Stampington & Co. A/M 2006)

Cheery Mother's Day Card
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I used Copics on this Northwoods stamp then used a Spellbinder die to cut it out. The layers below were created by Cheery Lynn Designs dies and Sizzix embossing folder. The butterfly is also Cheery Lynn. Added one pearl for the butterfly head.

This is another Stampbord card. I stamped the Stampbord with Staz-On then used Adirondack Inks and sponges to color. I used a brush and inks to color the shell and flowers, then used the Ampersand Stampbord tools to add detail. I glued silver braid around the edges (the board is about 3/8" thick). Because the board is heavier than card stock, I use thick glue to adhere it to the card or it would eventually just fall off the front.

June Class
Here are the samples for my June 2013 class. The stamps are from Penny Black and Northwoods and the words are from Paper Smooches. I used embossing folders from Cuttlebug, Sizzix and Lifestyle Crafts. Dies are from Cheery Lynn Designs, Spellbinders and Memory Box. I used a border punch from Martha Stewart on the green and white card. I used Twinkling H2Os on these cards.
The class is on June 15th, 9:30 am at The Cat's Meow in Oakhurst. (559)642-6611

Penny Black
This stamp (from a Penny Black clear set) of poppies was done with Twinkling H2Os and water. I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities die to make the poppies panel, some SEI decorative glazed paper and 2 different sheer ribbons tied together for the wrap around and bow.
Cheery Lynn Designs dies
Here is a little Magnolia Stamp that I did with Copic Markers. I used Cheery Lynn dies stacked on top of one another for a nice frilly look. Also used the inside of two Cheery Lynn ovals for the flower and stem (extras they add to the die). I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the white background to give it even more texture. I also used a Bow Easy to make a triple bow with sheer yellow ribbon.
Asian flair
This is a card I did for Ampersand Stampbord. I used a stamp by Kodomo, Inc. and watercolors then I used the tools by Ampersand to detail it. (Stampbord is a type of scratch board).

Birds
Monday, May 6, 2013
another store sample I made for The Cat's Meow. This is my son, Jake at a competition. I was sitting on the dock where he took off and when he came by on the first pass, I could barely get all of him in the shot because he was so close. The air was smoky due to a fire miles away but for the most part, I really love this pic!
I covered chipboard letters with paper and used a little ink on the edges of the large "S".

These are done with Twinkling H2O's and heavy weight watercolor paper.
Stamps are a clear set by Penny Black.
Working on some Birds right now for my June 2013 class. I'm using heavy watercolor paper and Twinkling H2O's again. My thinking is that doing watercolors in my class 2 months in a role will help the ladies to really get in the watercolor mode. I love using my Copics but sometimes I get in a little rut.
July I might even do the Tombow watercolor technique.
Watercolors can be done with pretty much any water-based inks or paints (I sometimes use re-inkers or even pads as well).
My husband and grandson are out mowing and weed-eating right now making it a perfect time to create so, I'm off and back to it!

Hi all,
Just figuring out this blog stuff. Yesterday I started out by telling you all about The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape created by The Cat's Meow in Oakhurst. The Stamp Escape is at Bass Lake, Ca. which is a beautiful setting. You can come and bring your family too. They can go to the lake or drive up to Yosemite while you are having fun in class with lots of other crafty ladies.

This is a picture of the ladies at the end...waiting for the drawing of door prizes!!! There were plenty to go around!
Not only that, we got goody bags at the beginning full of stamps and other prizes. www.catsmeowstamps.com
