DRS Challenge #250 What's Behind The Mask?

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge at DRS Designs-Masking.
Use any image, any die cut, any punch..but make sure to use some masking or reverse masking.
I made a mask of the cabin and my front branch and after stamping them, covered them with the mask and stamped the background.  I made a mask for the moon with a circle punch and post-it, I then masked the ground (I kept the other mask on as well) and sponged color in the sky with Distress inks. I removed the moon mask and used the post-it with the moon hole and put it over the moon (so ONLY the moon would show) and sponged a bit of yellow for the moon.
I removed all the mask and stamped my sign in the foreground then colored everything, splattered with white paint and added glitter to the ground and trees.
I die cut Christmas from a medium blue and glued it to the front corner.
That's it!
I hope you will join in the challenge!!

ODBDSLC279 Challenge Reminder-Color

Good morning!
Time for a challenge reminder.  You still have until November 6th to join in.
Find the link to submit your card on the ODBD blog site HERE.
There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.

This card features the new Home For The Holidays stamp set.
ODBD dies: Oval, Pierced Oval
This card is a reverse out of the box technique card.  I stamped my lamppost/sign on white card stock and then die cut my oval leaving the lamppost out.  To do this it takes a bit of backward thought.  I drew around my oval on the outside where the oval meets the lamppost, cut a large hole inside where the oval is going so that I can get my scissors in to cut to the points where my lamppost meets the oval.  Place my oval die on the pencil marks and under the lamppost that I cut to because I don't want that part to get cut by the die.
On another piece of white card stock I stamped the Joys of The Season tree several times and used some torn paper to make my snow hills.  I added a few splashes of yellowish color on the snow (NOT yellow snow) to reflect the light from the lamppost.
I popped up my top lamp layer up over the inside scene.
My lamppost is colored with Copic Markers and my sky is sponged and then splattered with white acrylic paint for snow.  I used some more torn paper for the snow on my foreground.
Everything was then glued to a white folded card.

Please visit my design team sisters and leave some love!

ODBD November Pre-Release-Jingle All The Way

Good morning!
Yaya!!  Now is the time to order!!
See all the special pre-order bundles below.
November Release!!!
My card features the new "Jingle Bell Time" stamp set.
I've colored with Copic Markers and die cut with Pierced Circles, doing the Out of The Box technique for the pine boughs hanging outside the circle.
I did my framing with Layered Lacey Squares and Squares
I used the Christmas Card Collection 2015 for my paper and also white linen for the card base and the Layered Lacey Squares scalloped edge.
For some added elegance, I used some white linen seam binding for a bow.
This card was very simple and used a minimal amount of dies to prepare.
The image was extremely fun to color (for all you color enthusiast out there,
 I know there are MANY!!)

ODBD October New Release Reminder

Good morning!

We are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs October Release.
My card for today features the new Home For The Holidays
For more inspiration using the October Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.
I'm so excited about this October Christmas release!

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the street light and set it aside while I constructed the rest of my card.
I used a lavender Swiss dot card stock as my card base and then layered it with a design from the Christmas Card Collection 2016 pack.  I cut 4 Bitty Borders and made a frame around the outside then wrapped my dyed to match ribbon around those layers (the decorative paper and border).  I then constructed the inside frame with the Double Stitched Rectangles and Bitty Borders then popped it up.
The sentiment is on layers of Stitched Ovals, Layered Lacey Ovals and Ovals then glued down inside my inner frame.  Now I attached my light with foam tape.

DRS Challenge #248 National Navy Day!

Good morning!

This week's challenge celebrates the birthday of the US Navy...
Nat'l Navy Day!

(use any image, die cut, punch, technique, but in honor of the Navy, either use a nautical image and/or the color Navy! Think anchors, ships, water, flags, etc..)

Anchors Aweigh, my boys

Letter die cuts-ODBD, Rope border-Elizabeth Craft Designs
I sort of mixed and matched the USA Thanks to Our Brave sentiment to make this card.
I have a letter set that is just perfect for cards and that is how I made the NAVY to go with US.  The anchor is just perfect for the Navy as well!
I colored it with Copic Markers (as well as the US) and made my rope red to go along with the red rope from my rope die.
To use just part of the sentiment stamp at a time I cover what I don't what to stamp with tape, ink the stamp up then remove the tape.  After stamping I clean the stamp, dry and tape the other part I do NOT want to use and repeat.  Using a stamp aligner will cut down on booboos in this area.  I used removable tape on the letters after placing them evenly on a ruler, applied glue then set them down on the paper and removed the tape.

To enter, show us your card  by linking it at DRS and please remember to link back to DRS. The deadline for this challenge is Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30 pm ET and please link new creations only (no back dated or duplicate entries)We are now limiting the number of entries to 3 per personChallenge entries don't have to use DRS Designs stamps, but if you use them on your challenge card, you'll get an extra entry into the prize drawing.

North Coast Creations October New Release blog Hop

Good morning!

Wow, look at these great parrots from North Coast Creations!

I also used Floral Sentiments 8 from NCC, Vintage Borders and Ornate Ovals from ODBD.
The background was done with Radiant Pearls and Alcohol.
I colored Peaches with Copic Markers relying on Parrot photos from the internet for a color guide as I do not have a parrot.  I've found that they come in a wide range of colors and patterns.
My layers are popped up with foam tape and I used some enamel dots for the corners.

My second card also uses the Peaches the Parrot stamp.
I colored him with Copics in another color combo.

I used an embossing folder, ribbon, foam tape, Prills, and a corner rounder on this card as well.
Foam tape was used to pop up layers, a stylist for forming flowers, Distress Ink for sponging color on the flowers.

DRS Challenge #247 Stamp Your Own Background

Good morning!

This week's challenge is fun & easy..
Stamp Your Own Background!

(use any image, any technique..but make sure to stamp a background..

This is my background for the fab fall card this week.
I stamped my leaves first (584D Open Leaf) and then masked them to stamp my plaid (613P Woven Plaid).  I added 4 colors of Tombow pen to my woven plaid.
I liked my background so much I didn't want to cover it!!  Ha!
Ok, so I decided I had to have a primary focus so I stamped, colored and fussy cut the pumpkin bouquet (684M Pumpkin Bouquet).
I die cut the frame with Double Stitched Rectangles from Our Daily Bread Designs. Then decided to add a sentiment...ya, cover up more background, ratz!
I used just the bottom of 150F Autumn Is Calling greeting and die cut it with an oval stitched die.  The die was a bit small so I did an out of the box technique on the G and the A.

So there's my stamped background, let's see yours!

To enter, show us your card  by linking it to DRS & please be sure to link back to DRS. The deadline for this challenge is Wednesday, October 12, at 6:30 pm ET and please link new creations only (no back dated or duplicate entires)We are now limiting the number of entries to 3 per personChallenge entries don't have to use DRS Designs stamps, but if you use them on your challenge card, you'll get an extra entry into the prize drawing.

ODBD October New Release Blog Hop

Good morning!
So glad you are hopping along with us to see the new October release.
Our Daily Bred Designs has some wonderful new Christmas stamps
and dies out this month....I'm in love!

My first card features the new Our Savior's Birth stamp set.
I stamped and colored my holy family and then did the "out of the box" cutting technique with the Pierced Circle die. Finished cutting out the pieces sticking out from my circle and placed foam tape under it then set aside.
I used the Pierced Rectangle to cut out the beautiful designer paper from the new Christmas collection (Don't you just love the purples and blues in the paper pack this year?) and cut my Ornate Ovals and Ornate Borders out of white linen. I used foam tape to pop up some of the layers.

My next card features the new Christmas Note done in traditional colors.
Just a note, I did add the plaid to my ribbon so you could leave it plain, do dots or stripes if you like.
I cut the Vintage Flourish Patter background from a plaid paper that I have and then backed it with green and added a thin red layer behind that before gluing to my card base.  For my image, I stamped, colored and die cut with the Vintage Flourish Pattern (inside dies) and then cut my red mat with the Vintage Labels.
My topper for the circle sentiment is some of the little pieces from the Christmas Candle die set.
