ODBDSLC213- Stitches week 2

Good morning all!
I hope you are having a wonderful week!

ODBD dies used: Doily, Vintage Labels
This is one of Our Daily Bread Designs fun and fancy fold cards. I used the paper from this month's release, Soulful Stitches to cover the panels.  I made a doily with the doily die out of the paper as well and put it under the green dress. Each panel is machine stitched and I added threaded buttons to the upper left side and the lower right side.  The center has my sentiment and the upper and lower center has rick rack and ribbon bows. I hope this will inspire you to make a stitched card and join in the challenge.  To see more inspiration, please visit my very talented design team sisters,
Cheryl Scrivens* Chris Olsen* Diana Nguyen
DJ Rants* Elizabeth Wisson* Linda Carson

To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC213 or to join the challenge click here. You have until September 21, 2014 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website, or to be spotlighted on the ODBD Blog at our next challenge. The random prize winner will be posted on the first challenge of each month. Please do not post on Flicker as many of us do not have the ability to comment on your cards nor can we spotlight your cards on the blog.

Well, today I'd like to bring up some scripture that reminds me of putting on or taking off clothing, Colossians 3:12-16
"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering (patience); bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.  But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."  Eph. 4:22 talks of putting off the "old man".
All of this makes me think of the dirty rags we come to Christ with and how He gives us a brand new coat to put on...it is woven with threads of His character like kindness, goodness, patience, humility, peace, love, joy...you get the picture. It is the most beautiful coat, the threads look gold and pearlescent and copper and silver and sparkles like diamonds. This is the new life we have in Christ Jesus. He covers our dirty rags with His glorious coat.  That is what God sees when He looks at us who have given our lives to Christ, He only sees the glorious coat Christ gave us.  In other words, He sees the righteousness of Jesus because His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness and we have forgiveness from all our sin.
I hope you belong to Him! If you don't and you want to know how to be part of the family of God, email me and I'll tell you more about it.

Robin, your card is gorgeous, but your scripture reference really spoke to me. Thanks for the reminder of where we've come from and how God has changed us. His mercies are true gifts and a beautiful way to start each day.
....His mercies are new every morning. God Bless,
Sue
