DRS Challenge #185- Cause A Scene

Good morning!
New challenge today at DRS.  Make any kind of scene with stamps or dies.
DRS stamps used: 768L Bruch Beach Sunrise, 450C Adirondack Chair, 473F 4 in 1 Seashells, 478P Picket Fence.
Seagull dies from Memory Box. Frame is Rectangle dies from Spellbinders. I stamped the fence and cut portions to make it wonky. Stamped the shells, colored and cut out.  The seagrass is green vellum cut in thin strips and curled with my fingernails.
I colored my beach scene/chair with Copic markers and then used Liquid Applique on the shore and waves coming in then glittered and heat to puff up. Added my fence, grass and frame then glued the shells to the frame.
Hope you like this little beach scene.  To see more scene creations, click HERE. You can also join in the challenge by clicking HERE.
Have a great week!

ODBDSLC248- Anything Goes With Our Daily Bread Designs

Good morning!
Today starts a new challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.
It is anything goes with ODBD.
ODBD stamps used: God Verses, He Watches Me
ODBD dies used: Sparrow Die, Vintage Flourish Pattern, SunBurst Background
I've used one of my favorite stamps today because I love the way purple Thistle looks when it is full of moisture from a rain or just dew and I love birds.   I made the new Sunburst my background panel. I love the scored lines and piercings. Beside the dies and stamps I used from ODBD, I used Stickles on the Thistle, rhinestones and ribbon.  I used a bit of yellow Brilliance ink on the background Sunburst panel and around the edge of the scripture panel.

Are you at the end of your rope? Are you wondering if God has deserted you? Believe me, He has not.  If you don't feel God's presence guess who moved?  God loved us even while we were yet sinners, do you think He has gone somewhere?
Ask God to search your heart, open it wide for Him to go where He pleases, see if there is anything that needs to be ummm, operated on? Psalms 139:23-24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxiety; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting". Do you feel alone, you are not, God IS there but do you need to get rid of stuff that lays between you and He?   Letting God search your heart is necessary for drawing near to Him. Do it, He loves you and wants you close to Him.  You don't have to be afraid of THIS Father.

DRS Challenge #184-A Stitch In Time!

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge at DRS Designs.
This week we are doing either faux stitching or real.
You can do either/or or both as I've done today.
DRS stamps used: 413H lovebirds, 395H Leafy Tree Branch, 406D Birdhouse, 951D Happy Thoughts.
I have some wonderful stitched dies that I wanted to use on this today and thought the little birds would be perfect for the layout!  These stitched dies are "Die-namics" I also used an embossing folder for the white panel and machine stitched it to a blue panel before gluing it to the card base. (That way there are no threads showing through when you open the card).   The ribbon was already stitched.  I did stitch my sentiment banner with the machine as well.  So, everything today has either real stitching or it has been done with stitched dies.

As always, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

ODBDSLC247- Inspiration Challenge

Good morning!
Time for a new challenge at ODBD! Use the inspiration photo below my card to create a card.

ODBD stamps used: Mini Tag Sentiments
ODBD papers used: Rustic Beauty

Isn't this new window set totally cute!  I just love playing with it.  Love the little flowers and flower box too!  I used part of a beautiful border to make the lattice looking design on the flower box because of the picture on the right, it is also popped up with foam tape.  So pretty!  I decided to cut my awning twice to make it striped (that seems to be the thing with awnings!!) It is glued to the top of the window at the top of the awning then I added foam tape 3 thick at the bottom part of the awning to get it to pop out. And, as I looked at these pictures the glass looks dark so instead of making a scene inside like wall paper and curtains as usualy, I made them look like the windows in the photo.  I cut a few extra flowers to fill the flower box a bit more (the set comes with the extra flowers).  My ribbon was dye with ink refills (Wild Plum) and then used under my fence and the bow on top to finish it off!  I used the beautiful papers from Rustic Beauty as my house and a mini tag for the sentiment (it looks like a welcome sign in the window I think).

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.  Matthew 6: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
You have heard it said that the eye is the window to the soul? Yes, it is, Matthew 6:22 The lamp of the body is the eye.  Be careful what you let your eyes see.  Guard what goes into your eyes and into your heart. All sin starts with a little compromise. Romans 12:2 says And do not be comformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  How do we renew our minds?  By reading God's word and staying in touch with Him daily through prayer.  Have you been compromised by what is going on in the world around you, the political correctness, the popular opinion?  Turn your eyes to Jesus! This life is very short but eternity is forever...you want to be found faithful at the end (of this life) to Jesus.  Don't look to the left or the right, keep your eyes and heart on Him!
Don't know Jesus yet?  Start by knowing that "ALL have sinned and come short" of God's standards Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death". But God provided a way of salvation through Jesus John 3:16, Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us". Accept Him, Jesus Christ, as the only way to receive God's gift of eternal life. John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me". Then confess Jesus as Lord of you life. Romans 10: 9  "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved".  Find someone to tell and seek out a Christian church to get the spiritual teaching you will need to continue on your path.

DRS Challenge #183- Color Challenge

Good morning!
Time for a new color challenge at DRS Designs!

DRS stamps used: 437G Circle Lily,  and 203B Just Because.
I stamped my circle lily on white and colored with Copic markers.  I added the dots to make it a Tiger (or Leopard) lily like we have here in the Sierra Nevada mountains.  I used a stitched circle die (Die-namics) to cut it out using the "out of the box" technique then framed it with a new decorative circle die (from Spellbinders).  I also used an oval die from Spellbinders for the sentiment and colored the inside before removing the die.  the outside of the oval is sponged with yellow.  The white background is embossed with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug and has tiny white Liquid pearl dots on each cross section (hard to see, I know). It is framed by an orange mat about 1/8".  I used a border punch under the sentiment and topped it with a pretty yellow/orange sheer ribbon and yellow button.  My outside is a stitched frame die from Die-namic (My Favorite Things) as well and is framed with a dark blue mat about 1/16", then mounted to a white folded card.  That's it!
I hope you can join in the fun of this challenge.  To see all the designer's samples and to submit your own sample, where you could win a prize, click HERE.

ODBDSLC246- Sketch Challenge

Good morning!.
This week starts a new sketch challenge at ODBD!

ODBD paper used: Shabby Rose Collection

I used the new Fragrance rose and the Layered Lacey squares for this challenge! I added some of the wonderful ODBD papers and borders to complete the sketch design.  The Fragrance sentiment is die cut with the Ornate borders and flowers die set.
I also used some Prills for my flowers centers and some pink ribbon.

Please visit my design team sisters for more inspiration.

Please do not post on Flicker as many of us do not have the ability to comment on your cards nor can we spotlight your cards on the blog.”

Eph. 5:2 "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." Jesus was the sacrifice offered in the Holy of Holies that tore the temple curtain in two. He is the sweet-smelling aroma to God.  When we accept Jesus the Christ as our Lord and Savior, we take on His (Jesus) righteousness before God.  When we walk in the Spirit of God (according to God's word) after making Jesus our Lord,  we are seen as righteous (because of Jesus, not ourselves).  We can come before God and talk with Him, ask of Him, be with Him, he no longer sees our sin, it is forgiven.  There is nothing so bad that God can't forgive, through Jesus, and make you new again! You want to be a sweet smelling aroma to God?  Ask Jesus into your heart and make Him Lord today!

DRS Challenge #182-You've Got Mail

Good morning!
Hahaha! Snowmen is July!  Hey, he's getting a head start for Christmas! Sending out his cards way early because of the slow delivery service from the North Pole!
I did a little creative masking here to put the snowman in the image instead of the flower.  Just taped off the part of the stamp that I did not want to ink, inked up the stamp then removed the tape.  I used a stamp aligner to place the snowman in just the right spot to look like he was either taking out the mail or puttin it in.  I used Liquid Applique to make snow around Mr. Snowman and the mail box!
I embossed the background layer with a snowflake folder and sewed around the edge to go with my stitched die cuts.  I added the candy stripe pattern to the snowman scarf.
Thanks for visiting and hope you'll hop on over to DRS Designs to join the challenge and to see the other designer inspiration!  HERE.

Copics 3 and 4

Good morning!
Trying my hand at the hair technique I learned but this one was a bit difficult as it has all those little circles etc. in it.  The face was fun to do though!

Using darks and lights to create a rippled effect on these tulips.
I used re-inkers to dye my matching ribbon.
These two were also challenges at Splitcoaststampers.

ODBDSLC245- Color Challenge

Good morning!
Yay! It's time for another ODBD challenge.  Today it is a color challenge (see photo below my card for colors).  Color challenges are one of my personal favorites.

ODBD stamps used:Fragrance, Mini Tag Sentiments

I started by stamping the Fragrance blossoms on white cardstock and die cuting with the inner die of Layered Lacey Squares and before I lifted the die, I embossed it and inked the open spaces.  I cut another light pink layer then the outer Lacey Square in a dark pink. I then cheated a bit and cut the outer Lacey square twice with white, cut an extra scallop from each side of the extra square and made my white square larger all the way around with the extra scallop on each side, sponged the edges with pink and Cut a square to fit just inside the scallops to cover any cut lines.  I mounted this square onto a folder square card base.
For my flowers, I stamped the front bottom flower twice and colored then cut out petals to pop up to make my flower really 3-D.  I then used some Prills (by US Art Quest) for my centers.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white and die cut with the Mini Tags.  I sponges some pink on the edges before mounting under the large pink bow.
Images is colored with Copic Markers.

Do your know some fragrance scriptures?  Well, there are several about smells and especially in the Song of Solomon but the one I am thinking of is in Philippians 4:18-19 It's when Paul is speaking to one of the churches about their giving.
"Indeed I have all and abound.  I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.  And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."  It WAS a sacrifice, they were (some of them) barely scrapping by but they gave to Paul because paul was spreading the Gospel where they could not.  Think of it...according to GOD'S riches...the creator of the universe, are you kidding me, wow!  It may be a sacrifice to give (and when you give, give as unto God).  But God is faithful and He will provide.  Plus, your reward is waiting for you in heaven where NO ONE can take it away from you!  Jesus said, (Matthew 6: 19-21) "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Where is YOUR treasure?

Copics 1 and 2

Some of our beautiful images that we used at the Copic workshop in San Francisco with Lori Craig.
We did the hair only on this little one so I finished it at home a few days ago.

On this beauty we only had time to do the face.  I did the hair and dress just a day or two ago.
Both of these were for challenges at Splitcoaststampers.
I am getting such a kick out of my Copic Markers!

DRS Challenge #181 Splatters Matter

Good morning!

I started this card with taking Neon Ink Dabbers and slamming them onto my paper to make splats.  I then took the droppers of the Izinks and flung it at the paper to get some drips or lines of color.  Very fun!  After I stamped my cake and the pig on white scraps, colored and cut out.  I stamped the Happy Birthday on the center of the cake and stamped the sentiment on one of my splattered panels.  I die cut and pieced the borders back with the die cut shapes.
this is an easel card so the insides are popped up to act like a stop.
Have a great week!  To see the other designer samples and to join the challenge, click HERE.
