ODBD AugustMid-Month Reminder

Good morning!

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs August Mid-Month Release, here are the cards I created.  For more inspiration using the August Mid-Month Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

My first card is made using the new By The Sea stamp set.

I stamped and cut out the pelican and the Patriotic Pennants.  The card base and Layered Lacey Oval is done in light gray to match the background of the Nautical compass decorative paper.  I used a wide red satin ribbon at the top and made my own pennant with the sentiment layer.

My second card is done using the new You Anchor Me stamp/die duo.

I also used the new Nautical paper pack and Pierced Squares.
The sentiment is outlined with red and then glued to a layer that I used a Rope embossing folder on.  I glued twine all the way around it and left off where the anchor is glued.  the anchor is cut from "gun metal gray" and silver metallic Rub-On's applied.
I used a double strand of twine to make a nautical knot and glued it on the line between papers in the background.  The anchor is popped up and the rope layer is also popped up with foam tape.

Come hop along with us and see a bunch of new ideas from "the breadsticks" of Our Daily Bread Designs!

DRS Challenge #241- Monsters and Witches and Ghouls, Oh My!

Good morning!
Well for zombies, these are pretty cute!
Our challenge this week is to create a card using witches, Monsters or Ghouls.
Use any stamp, die cut or punch.
This card is using new release DRS stamps: 922H Zombie Gal and 975D Monster Hugs.
I borrowed this sketch for one of the recent Splitcoaststampers sketches.  It works well for this card.
I did the out of the box die cutting technique on this combo image and sentiment to allow for her foot to stick out.
I colored her skin green?? I'm really not up on zombies so that is just a guess at how someone from the walking dead might look.  I have given her some cute Halloween colors for clothing and colored the words to match!

ODBD August Reminder Post

Good morning!

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs August Release, here are the cards I created using the new Thanks For Everything Stamp/die Duos and the new Woodpecker stamp set. For more inspiration using the August Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

I stamped and colored my apple barrel with Copic Markers then die cut it with the Pierced Squares. Die cut one layer of Boho paper with the Squares and cut another layer of the paper to 4 1/8" X 5 3/8".
I cut the Layered Lacey Square scallop from white, the sentiment I cut with the Pierced Ovals from white, and my card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" folded, from white.  I have a layer of dark red cut from the squares behind the scallops and my "Thanks" is cut from dark red (kind of a rusty red).
Several layers are popped up with foam tape.

My second card using the Woodpecker set also uses:

I cut the Soulful Stitches paper with the Vintage Flourish Patter then I stamped the sentiment inside the Vintage Flourish Pattern.
I stamped and cut out the woodpecker and popped it up over my Vintage Flourish Patter and over my Vintage Borders cut from ivory.  I added red nailhead stickers and ivory ribbon to finish.

DRS Challenge #240- Color!

God morning!
Time for a color challenge!

DRS Designs stamps: 452L Autumn Flower Spray

These are the colors for this challenge.

I stamped and cut out my Autumn flowers and popped them up over the scalloped oval die cut (Life Styles) along with my pail from I.O.
I was also doing a color blocking challenge so I did 3 of the colors in the background using the curved Spellbinders border die.
I added a sentiment with die cut words, "Miss You" (dies by Little B)
This was a fast and easy card to make!

ODBD-August Mid-Month Release

Good morning!
This is so exciting, a new release mid month!
Some totally cool nautical designs; An anchor die with sentiment stamps called, You Anchor Me (which I used on this first sample), A Pelican and sentiments called, By The Sea and some wonderful new papers.  The paper I used today is called,  By The Shore.  There are also more stamp set, dies and papers that you will see along the hop today.
I cut my anchor from copper shimmer paper and then used some acrylic black paint, Turquoise paint and silver Inka Gold on it to age it.
I used the new paper collection By The Shore along with copper shimmer to complete my layers.  Copper ribbon and a copper shell button (believe it or not, I found that in my button stash, just cut the shank off) was added to complete my card.

My second card uses the new stamp set, By The Sea, featuring a pelican and lots of nice sentiments.
I also used Pierced Circle and Circles for this card.
I used a ocean scape print from the By The Shore paper to complete the look I had going with my image.  I actually lined up the pelican panel with the paper to finish coloring so that it would match better!!
I stamped the sentiments on scraps of the decorative paper then matted with white and made fish tail ends.

ODBDSLC277 Reminder-Sketch Challenge

Good morning!
Here is a second sample for this month's challenge.

ODBD paper: By The Shore

I stamped and colored the die cut my underwater scene then die cut my doily from a piece of card stock the I had sprayed with Dylusions Inks. The background for the doily (part of the Doily set) was cut with the new paper called By the Sea. I then cut a turquoise Pierced Square and a Tan Pierced Rectangle that I then Embossed for a bit of texture.  I die cut the border with the new Flower Lattice die, laid it on the same color and cut it out around the outside.
Stamped the sentiment "Everyday is a" and die cut Blessings (cutting off the s at the end to make Blessing).
That's about it.
You may use any stamp or die from Our Daily Bred Designs, Artistic Outpost or North Coast Creation for this challenge.
There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.
Check the ODBD blog for details on submitting your card and for seeing all the samples in one place.

Heartfelt Thanks!

Good morning everyone!

Today I've done a card that uses the new dual Stamp/die set called

I love these new sets!!

I've also used some old favorites like the Ornate Hearts, Log Cabin Quilt die and the Shabby Rose paper collection.
This card was super simple to make because of the stamp die coordinating set.
I used a old favorite sketch as well and with these beautiful papers, well, it's done in a flash!
I just added some pink acrylic baubles and some dyed pink seam binding for a bow (I already have a few yards dyed to match paper colors).
You can also find this card on SplitCoastStampers site today.

Come see my gallery HERE.

DRS Challenge #239- Shake It!

Good morning!
Time to shake it up with this new challenge from DRS!

Instead of using a pre-made shaker case, I decided to make a free-form shaker.
I stamped my Sandcastle 090G and Sea Grass 128L and then used some cloud dies to
cut out my hole in the sand.
I colored my image and used torn paper towel and a sponge dauber with Sky Blue Brilliance ink to color the sky and make clouds,  I then covered the back with heavy acetate (from some die packaging) and then I used (in this case) some Fun Foam found, in the kids section of a general craft store, to make my "box".
I cut a small rectangle that would be just slightly larger than the free-form cut out from the Fun Foam and glued it to the acetate with heavy duty tacky glue to make sure it did not come apart.
Now that I had my shallow "box" I filled it with some 4 in 1 Seashells 473F that I colored and cut out and some sequins.   I added chunky glitter and even some chunky embossing to make a sand looking element as well. I then covered the entire back with card stock making sure I added a good glue line all the way around the box part to seal it.
I then added  my Umbrella 817G, which I colored in a bright beachy rainbow and fussy cut, and Hugs 4 in 1 Words 670D that I colored the sand color and die cut, with foam tape.
That's it!  I hope you will join in the fun!!  There is a prize every week!

DRS Challenge #238-Hot Trends, Sun Rays!

Good morning!
time for a new challenge at DRS Designs.

The challenge this week is to use sun rays on your card.
I have a bit of a tropical card going here and so I actually have sun rays and flower prints on every layer.  My blue is embossed with a flower embossing folder, the pink layer is stamped with 1076H Flower border, the yellow layer was stamped with 668H Medium Daisy Bloom, my next layer was done with a sun ray embossing folder and then rubbed with yellow ink.  My image (878L Flamingo Palm Tree Scene) has the sun rays extended into it from my embossed sun rays using a ruler and a yellow pen.  I then colored the run rays with a light yellow Copic marker.
I then made my sentiment using 094D Sending You Sunshine and die cutting it to fit then placed an enamel yellow dot at the left side (holding it in place??)  My bow is seam binding dyed to match.
I used a sketch found on SplitCoastStampers HERE.

I hope you will join us for this challenge.  You can find all the info, submit your entry and see all the designers cards HERE.

ODBDSLC277 It's a Sketch Challenge!

Good morning!
It's time for a new challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs!!
This month we are going with a sketch; I love sketches, they are like instant cards!
You don't have to follow it as is thought, you can turn it inside out, upside down or sideways...Whatever floats your boat!
Today mine follows as is!
ODBD stamps: Birdhouse

I just love the delicate prints in the Easter paper packs and the nice pastel colors so I chose to use them this morning. I incorporated the Bitty borders too, how fun!  Our doily die is perfect for a scallop circle and with all the pierced and stitched dies that we now have, making a feminine or shabby chic card is a cinch!
Isn't this little birdhouse adorable!  Look at all those mouths to feed!

There will be a $15 gift certificate  toward stamps for one random winner as well as one winner for the Shining the Light Award.
You must use at least one stamp or die from ODBD, Northcoast Creations or Artistic Outpost to join us.
Please visit my design team sisters for more inspiration:  Chris and Diana

Psalm 139:13-17New Living Translation (NLT)

13
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body

and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
17
How precious are your thoughts about me,[a] O God.

    They cannot be numbered!
Yes, the God who formed you and knew all your days before there was even one, He has a plan for your life.  Trust Him with it, He knows more than we do!
It starts by believing in Him and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
