Pinecone Easel Card

Good morning!
I love this new large pinecone and ribbon!
It is so much fun to color and then to pop up because
there are individual scales that add so much dimension!

Instructions:
Card size: 4 3/4 X 6 3/4".   Cut 2 pieces of heavy weight white cardstock (Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper is great), one 6 3/4 X 5” and one 7 1/4 X 5” Score the 7 ¼ piece at 1/2" to use as a tab to glue it to the other white piece.  Once glue is completely dry place the outer die of the Decorative Circle Frames onto folded white cardstock and leave the top of die off of the folded edge about 1/4".  After card is cut score one side at the center point again (3 1/4"), this will form the easel.  Use the outer die again to cut the card front on another piece of white cardstock.  Glue the front to the bottom half (when card is closed) of the 3 1/4" part of the easel matching edges.

Cut 2 Decorative Circle Frames out of gold, flue 1 to the card front and 1 inside card (the inside piece will need to be trimmed at the top to fit).   Cut 2 white eyelet circles and then cut 2 circles smaller to fit inside eyelet circles from decorative paper (the inside circle was cut from a panel that has the 2 chickadee type birds in a pine wreath, do the “out of the box” cut to make sure you keep the bird tails intact.   Glue eyelet circle and decorative paper circles to the front and inside of card.

Stamp the large pinecone and 2 medium pinecones using black ink, die cut and color.  Use foam tape on some of the pinecone scales to make the pinecone more dimensional and glue on the other parts then adhere to front of card at the top.  Cut 2 medium pinecones from Fun Foam and glue them to the backs of the 2 colored pinecones.  Stamp Merry Christmas using Red, die cut it and die cut a Merry Christmas from Fun Foam as well, glue them together.  These inside pieces need to be dimensional to act as a “stay” for the front part of the easel.  Glue the Merry Christmas to the inside where you want the card to stay open (check first or it may be too high or too low).  Glue the pinecones under the Merry Christmas.

Stamp the poinsettias with Vermillion, sponge with Carnation and stamp the leaves with Fern Green, sponge with Leaf Green, die cut then shape in the mold (see video above).  Glue flowers in sets of 2 then fill centers with gold Prills.  Stamp a sentiment on a small tag from the decorative paper using red then die cut.  Add a sheer red bow to the top of tag.  Glue 3 flowers between Merry Christmas and pinecones also inserting tag as desired.  Glue 1 flower on the front toward the bottom left, add another sheer red bow under the flower.  Add holly leaves where desired.

Glitter the flowers with Crystal clear, glitter the edges of card front and inside with Crystal Ultrafine.  Glitter the decorative paper circle on the front randomly.  Use shimmer on leaves by brushing it on.

My next card features the new oval wreath and the cardinals

Don't you just love the little cabin scene inside?

Instructions:
Card size: 6 X 6”. Start with a 6 X 6 folded card base.  Cut 1 gold panel 5 3/4" Square, glue to base then cut decorative paper as follows: Red- 3 X 5 11/16” and 2 green gingham- 1 5/16 X 5 11/16”.  Glue red paper to the center of gold panel then glue green gingham paper to the top and bottom of red (make sure there is a 1/16” border of gold all the way around).

Cut 1 white Petite Pocket Accent, 1 white Decorative Pocket Accent and 1 white Ornate Oval.  Cut 1 gold Petite Pocket Accent (then border), 1 gold Decorative Pocket Accent and 1 gold Ornate Oval.  Glue each pair together.  Cut 1 Fun Foam Oval large enough for the back of the Ornate Oval pair and glue it to the back.  Glue the Petite Pocket accent pair to the top gingham right on the edge of green and red then glue the Decorative Pocket Accent pair to the bottom gingham on the edge of green and red.  Glue the Oval stack to the center of card over both pocket accents (centered).

Stamp Sentiment using red onto a strip of green decorative paper, cut a fish tail at the end, curl sentiment and glue to the card above Petite Pocket Accent at an angle, add 2 gold “nail head” stickers.

Stamp cabin scene twice and cardinals once using black ink.  Die cut and color.  The cabin is die cut leaving just the wreath on 1 and on the other, leaving all but the sky.  The sky is blue paper sponged with white pigment ink then some red dabbed onto the white. Cut it to fit the back of the cabin scene.  On the back of the wreath die cut, add some very thin strips of foam tape to pop it up over the wreath on the other (full) die cut with cabin.  Cut the cardinals apart as needed to add to the wreath on top of the existing birds.

Glitter the cabin scene and wreath (except birds) then glue the cabin scene with popped wreath and cardinals, to the Ornate Oval Pair.  Randomly glitter card.

Thanks for visiting today!
